What were the consequences for those in the Insolvency Service and outside of it that weaponised the system against Kids company and its founder?
As far as I’m aware Sarah, there was zero accountability and consequences aside from a bit of a roasting in court. This is why Citizen Intervention Global is so needed because these tyrants will carry on abusing their power for as long as they are allowed to. We need good governance and we need a judicial system that protects and serves. Tyranny does not serve the public, it oppresses it! The tragic irony is that it’s everyday citizens who suffer as a result…

The Insolvency Service get away with so much. Someone impartial needs to do a forensic audit of the organisation and look at their operation and whether they are fit for purpose or they themselves should be wound up in the public interest!

I love that Citizen Intervention’s work is described as organised, principled public scrutiny because that’s exactly what is missing in this country and the world as a whole. The reason these institutions and the individuals within them that abuse their power and position within them to harm and even destroy people’s lives is because the public spotlight is not on them. How many people have even heard of the “Insolvency Service” or know what they do? Yet that ignorance and lack of attention is allowing these departments to get away with near murderous actions because of the devastation they wreak on people’s lives. I personally do not think that the death of Camilla Batmanghelidjh, God rest her soul, was in no way connected to or at least partly caused by the stress and anxiety and pressure that was put on her through her ordeal. It goes to show how ruthless and heartless these people can and will be, that even with an organisation doing the work of helping desperately vulnerable and suffering children is fair game to them. As it says here, we want “not passive commentary but active civic protection” damn right! At the very least.
When I went through the summary of the judgement that the judge presiding over the Kids company case made, I was flabbergasted as to the number of criticisms they made. Namely how incompetent they were and the judge even said that more expertise was needed given the allegations made. More than this though, was how the judge even spoke about the institutional bias and the target driven approach of the organisation to win their cases. A complete lack of humanity.
What happened to Kid’s Company and its staff was terrible. We can’t keep letting these things slide. That’s why Citizen Intervention Global matters — to hold power to account and restore trust. Too many institutions and media outlets have divided us. It’s time we came together and demanded real justice.
When agencies like the Insolvency Service are granted such power, such jurisdiction, without the quality control needed, they and the public can believe that their size and impact can cover up and hide their wrongdoing. And without the intervention here they most likely would sweep so much under the carpet, thinking they get away with incompetence and heinous corruption. We are called to expose the works of evil in this world, not stand complicit in them. From what I’ve read in the court documentation on this case and then comparing it to my personal experience with the Insolvency Service over the last 3+ years what I’ve seen is consistent…
The Insolvency Service believes that because it has powers delegated to it by the Secretary of State, it believes:
1 it is accountable to no one and nothing (not even God).
2 it operates with immense hubris and pride, believing that it is never wrong.
3 that because it doesn’t make mistakes in its so-called investigations, there’s nothing to take responsibility for.
4 it can psychopathically process people through its bureaucratic systems as if they were guilty till proven innocent.
5 that there is no possibility of it being weaponised, to the point it won’t even answer questions on this subject.
6 it can name and shame those it claims to be guilty according to its lawfare tactics. Meanwhile it will protest profusely at being held accountable for self-evident incompetence and attempt to cover this over.
7 it is acting in the public interest whilst persecuting the public and shutting down organisations that are doing meaningful work to serve the public.
There’s plenty more, so this is just a start rather than an exhaustive list. The need for Citizen Intervention Global to hold such institutions accountable is becoming more obvious by the day!
This says it all, process and power can eclipse truth and justice. It’s injustice in the name of justice, and what you’re highlighting is a problem of accountability for those who are supposed to be looking after us. Who’s watching them? That’s where tyranny can breed and we can see it manifesting right here.
Citizen Intervention is critically needed to prevent what happened to ‘Kids Company’ from happening to another company like it. This is just one case; how many others are lost in the system that we are not aware of? That is why Citizen Intervention is needed. We need to stand together as citizens to fight injustice. The case of Shaun Cooper vs the Insolvency Service is another.
This is why organisations like the ‘Insolvency Service’ need to be held accountable for their actions, and why Citizen Intervention is critically needed.
God bless the founder of Kids Company, Ms Batmanghelidjh. She recognised the urgent need to care for our children and went on to build an organisation dedicated to serving society’s most vulnerable. Yet, because of bureaucracy and technicalities, the actions of the Insolvency Service led to its closure.
This once again shows the deep lack of compassion that so often exists within government institutions, where following procedure is valued more than doing what is right. And as always, it’s the children who suffer most.
It’s vital that we, as a society, stand together to support those in need regardless of these shortsighted and heartless decisions made by government bodies.
It’s also deeply concerning to see how small, often family-run companies are being unfairly attacked by the Insolvency Service.
Reading about what happened to Kids Company breaks my heart. An organisation built to love and protect vulnerable children was torn down by the very systems meant to uphold justice. It’s devastating to see how power, when unchecked, can destroy lives and silence truth. What Citizen Intervention is doing gives me hope — standing up for fairness, balance, and integrity when institutions fail to. We desperately need more people willing to speak out and hold these bodies accountable. Because when truth is ignored, it’s always the innocent and the vulnerable who suffer most. We can’t let that continue.
