We would like to share the following letter with you from Paul S. Waugh in light of the resignation of BBC-Director General Tim Davie:
MR DAVIE, WE DEMAND THE RESIGNATIONS OF CATRIN NYE, JAMIE BARTLETT, RAVIN SAMPAT AND NATALIE TRUSWELL
To Acting BBC Director-General Tim Davie,
Following your resignation as BBC Director General and Deborah Turness as CEO of BBC News, I—Paul S. Waugh—now call on you, Mr Davie, to insist that Catrin Nye, Jamie Bartlett, Ravin Sampat and Natalie Truswell from the maliciously defamatory A Very British Cult resign as well.
Your resignation, Mr Davie, is part of the larger house of cards that is collapsing—it was not only inevitable, but anticipated, because a house divided against itself cannot stand. We called for your resignation a long time ago, following scandal after scandal, lie after lie, controversy after controversy, since our first published open letter to you in April 2024. You now walk away in disgrace from one of the most sought after jobs in Britain, leaving only further doubt over the true state of this sinking ship, the BBC.
These four individuals—Ms Nye, Mr Bartlett, Mr Sampat and Ms Truswell—know full well that they are guilty of the same scandal which now marks your exit, Mr Davie. What these individuals have done to us, on your watch, is hundreds of times worse than the recent scandal involving the doctoring of the Donald Trump speech footage. Along with 140+ falsehoods, what this team did is EXACTLY the same as what Panorama did to Donald Trump—sliced and moved around statements to make us look bad and dangerous. As licence fee payers and members of the British public that these four individuals answer to, it is time for them to step down.
Their criminal behaviour is set out clearly in our upcoming Open Letter to President Donald Trump—not only concerning you, but also these four BBC staff members in particular, along with the rest of their team and their maliciously false sources.
The BBC has been central to the tyrannical attacks on free speech in the UK and the weaponisation of the media against ideological and political opponents. You are the organisation the Reddites (Predatory Online Trolls, also your sources)—who began their toxic and malicious smear and hate campaign against us almost five years ago—trusted and relied upon to spread lies and hate.
We have called, time and again, for the BBC and others—such as the Insolvency Service, which again those same Reddites trusted and were manipulated through—to do the right thing: to investigate the original falsehoods upon which all this slander was built. Yet they have consistently refused. It is now time that you, Mr Davie, call a full and comprehensive investigation to be finally conducted into these Reddites and what they did to us, online and in the media—the very investigation that the BBC ought to have done in the first place!
One of the current weapons of the woke left is to smear their enemies as “cult leaders” and “cults.” It’s the same tactic they’ve used against President Trump, and it’s exactly what they’ve done to me and my brothers and sisters at Lighthouse. They try to portray President Trump as a dangerous cult figure—linking him to QAnon and framing him as a violent, malevolent leader plotting a mass uprising against the establishment. They’ve been attempting to do the same to me simply because I have been conducting research—through great time, money, and effort—into human potential and helping people grow up, stand strong together, and resist a tyrannical establishment that keeps people infantilised and institutionalised. It is this very establishment that the BBC upholds—one that has irreparably damaged public trust in the British media.
The BBC is now being exposed not only for broadcasting lies but for actively participating in their fabrication—deceit designed to silence opponents and attack the forced-licence-fee-paying British public rather than inform, educate, and advocate for them. This is Christian persecution in the West—slander against God’s people disguised as journalism by the anti-Christ cult that is the BBC.
Therefore, in addition to these resignations, I call for there to be an immediate investigation into all the documentaries and programmes made during your tenure where the same tactics deployed against President Trump and myself have been deployed against others. It will be present in all of them, it’s just to what degree!
It is time that all their wrongdoing is unearthed, once and for all. It is time for these individuals to resign and follow your long-overdue example. However, your act, Mr Davie, is in no way virtuous. In fact, it is desperately cowardly—you are fully aware of the extent of what has been concealed, and the consequences are now inevitable.
Time was not on your side, and it will certainly not be on theirs either.
This is why we are launching the BBC Class Action — a collective claim by the very people the BBC has exploited and deceived: the forced licence fee payers of the United Kingdom. We will no longer pay to be misled. We do not owe the BBC our hard-earned money — you owe us. This class action against the BBC, and both past and present employees, could not be more timely.

I found your article while looking into the news of President Trump threatening legal action against the BBC. The BBC boss, by the looks of it, has been covering up a lot more than sexual abuse within the BBC. This is how far the BBC has fallen where they are now resorting to blatantly misleading and lying. By the looks of it, they’ve been doing it for years and Trump’s case is not in isolation. As an American, I can tell you now that the BBC should be shut down for good.

I appreciate how direct and cleanly this letter lays out who and why must now resign in a first wave of reform at the BBC.
What I felt when I learnt about Davie resigning was a mix of recognition that justice might be done with him getting some much needed consequences for his actions, but also a feeling of ‘don’t let this be the end of it’.
Losing their jobs would not the just outcome that I feel is needed in this situation and a simple resignation of a few people is too simple a solution to the inherent issues within the BBC.
It would not be justice if these few resign, and then it’s back to business as usual.
I agree that every documentary in recent times needs to be reviewed, lessons noted and compensation paid out because an injustice, is an injustice and needs to be rectified.
Then those lessons learnt and implemented by the incoming Director General so that the BBC finally becomes the trustable organisation we all thought it was.

This feels like an incredibly timely and providential moment for us, and for the BBC, in light of the journey we’ve all been on over these past three-plus years. Tim Davie’s resignation, as Paul rightly said, isn’t an act of virtue but of cowardice — as so many in that industry and in government tend to do. Rather than take full responsibility and accountability for what’s happened under his tenure, he slips away as though that’s acceptable. Meanwhile, the victims of the crimes that occurred under his leadership — by staff he was accountable for — are left unjustified, unreconciled, and uncompensated.
It’s a shame on him and on the organisation as a whole. The BBC is long overdue for reform — whether through complete closure or through serious redress and restructuring from the top down.
Thank you to Paul and everyone involved in writing this letter. May the good fight of faith continue in our Lord.

I wasn’t surprised to see a statement from Samir Shah (The BBC chairman) this morning, STILL desperately trying to defend the BBC and make excuses for their blatant deceit of the public and their disgraceful betrayal of Mr Trump. As he has said on Truth Social, many would consider the UK an ally of the USA…who needs enemies when you have the BBC as an ally?! As has been said, the fish rots from the head down and if the chairman is still truly unrepentant, focussing on the reputation of the BBC, rather than what is morally and ethically right…then it is no wonder that the likes of Catrin Nye, Natalie Truswell, Jamie Bartlett and Ravin Sampat are in such poor character also. They ought to see the natural consequence of lying, cheating, slandering and absconding responsibility in the first of many examples to come, with the resignations Tim Davie and Deborah Turness. This is not a request for their resignations but a demand!!
We’ve been seeking a true representation of Lighthouse based on facts, evidence, truth and reality from the BBC since I wrote to Mike Cowan in February 2022. They’ve ignored and mocked and all our efforts to the point of presenting a completely warped version of reality based on their delusion in A Very British Cult and since then.
Now it’s publicly revealed that the President of the United States has been smeared and suddenly there’s apologies and resignations. That was even before the threat of a billion-dollar lawsuit!
What does that show? The BBC doesn’t care about truth, about facts, about evidence, about reality… and most concerningly, they don’t care about the everyday British citizen who’s forced to pay the licence fee if they want to watch live TV (not even the BBC!).
What the staff at the BBC only care about is the billions from licence fees, their reputations and their desire to be significant because they ‘work for the BBC’.
What’s happening to the BBC is a mockery of what it’s supposed to be. There are ex-BBC staff who are outraged at what this institution has become just as a source of news. Yet Tim Davie will constantly boast of it being the ‘most trusted news source’… if that really is the case, what does that say about the rest?!?

Utterly disgraceful! According to Sky News, when Tim Davie addressed BBC staff yesterday, he sounded chipper?! He also spoke about being PROUD of the BBC and of the journalists and so on….
This is chilling…their “apologies” are empty and meaningless…

The BBC have lied continuously to the public by saying that what they do is in the public’s interest. Is lying to the public in our interest?
Tim Davie, as Paul has said, his resignation is an act of cowardice.
What they did to President Trump and to Lighthouse is coming back to haunt them.
What I pray for is that all the victims of the Jimmy Savile cover-up will finally get the compensation they deserve, along with every other person who has been a victim of their lies and manipulation.

Ms Nye, Mr Bartlett, Mr Sampat, and Ms Truswell know that they are guilty of the same scandal that led to the resignation of Mr Davie. This is not a one-off mistake, what happened to Donald Trump and his speech manipulation mirrors the same deceit seen in the documythary A Very British Cult. With over 140 proven falsehoods the BBC deliberately distorted reality to make us look bad and dangerous.
As licence fee payers and members of the British public we deserve justice and accountability, not shallow resignations and otherwise brushing things under the carpet and to continue as always. God bless
