A Case About Protecting Citizens from Life Destruction by the Top-Tier Establishment
If you have not followed this case, the central issue is simple:
What is a citizen supposed to do when a powerful organisation has egregiously tried to destroy their reputation, livelihood, relationships and their entire life… and the public account of what happened is fundamentally false?
Are ordinary citizens simply expected to accept the destruction of their lives and remain silent?
Or should citizens be able to use lawful, peaceful and proportionate means to reasonably defend themselves, seek answers, correct the public record and hold those responsible to account?
This is why this case matters far beyond the three of us.
Quite simply, what we sought was the opportunity to reply to every single false allegation made in the BBC programme, “A Very British Cult”. We wanted the opportunity to fully, completely and honestly correct the record on the falsehoods that were broadcast to millions of people worldwide — by reaching that same audience ourselves. Anything less cannot truly correct the public record.
We, like many citizens worldwide, were the victims of a targeted, Establishment-driven life destruction operation.
Our campaign, by sheer contrast, was peaceful, lawful and ongoing. As citizens, it involved journalism, protests, advocacy and lobbying, as well as attempts to obtain answers and defend ourselves directly from those involved.
After trying everything we could, we chose to doorstep Catrin Nye in order to get the full, uninhibited, uncensored truth that she and the BBC were refusing to grant us and the greater public.
It was in this context that we briefly attended BBC journalist Catrin Nye’s private home on two different occasions in 2024, one week apart. Through doorstepping Ms Nye, we wanted answers;
How did she feel about the 140+ provable falsehoods she and the BBC had deceptively sold to the public?
Why would she and her organisation not grant us the right to respond fully and comprehensively to all of the false allegations in their programme, with the same reach and the same audience they sold their diabolical lies to?
Why were Catrin Nye, her team and the BBC hiding from truth and accountability?
On both occasions, there was no answer at the door, blinds were closed, the house was silent and seemingly no one was home.
We maintain that these visits were more than morally, ethically, categorically justified in the public interest (given the provable levels of heinous wrongdoing by this public broadcaster).
Our conduct was civil, proportionate and warranted in light of the extraordinary circumstances in which they took place.
The fundamental issue is therefore not simply two visits to a private home.
The Verdict and the Evidence
What His Honour Judge Pounder has now ruled on, following District Judge Susan Holdham’s ruling earlier this year, is abundantly clear:
That the BBC’s Catrin Nye has a right to privacy that completely and totally outweighs a matter of immense public interest, where she and the BBC have misled the public in order to destroy the lives and reputations of a small group of Christians.
This means that any mainstream journalist and Establishment-backed authority figure can seek to destroy the lives of ordinary citizens, and declare effective immunity due to their right to privacy.
Yet, if you are an Establishment life-destruction campaign target, then your privacy is expendable, as are you…
NB: This judgment was deliberated on for two days by Judge Pounder along with two lay magistrates.
As with Ms Nye, such public figures only have to claim to have felt “alarmed and distressed” by a citizen attending their home. When someone’s subjective allegations can so easily lead to the criminal prosecution of another citizen, getting the facts wrong can have devastatingly life-changing consequences.
While we are pleased that the Judge acknowledged we are of “good character” and “credible”, this was but a passing comment.
Provable Falsehoods Believed as Fact
Ms Nye has brought her case to the police full of provably ludicrous exaggerations, falsehoods and omissions of crucial context to falsely present us as criminals and try to delay the public from discovering the truth.
As one brief example (of many), Ms Nye claimed she was terrified for the safety of her children, when we attempted to conduct the journalistic — and standard — practice of doorstepping, justified by high levels of public interest, on 29 August and 5 September 2024. (You can see our short visit on the 5th September below, which was presented in court).
Ms Nye later speculated (after our arrest) that we – three Christian citizens who had only ever engaged with her peacefully and reasonably, one of whom she described in court as “congenial” and “nice” – could suddenly be an alleged danger to her children because we might be “carrying knives”.
Even her own partner, Jamie Bartlett, testified in court under oath that on both occasions, the children were not at home; that they were at the local nursery.
Ms Nye also had email addresses for two of us, and could have at any point asked or even warned us not to attend her home to conduct a doorstep interview. She chose not to.
Ms Nye’s wild, false, dark-fantasy allegations were never objectively tested or scrutinised properly before the charges were brought, to check if they were actually true. This is one of our greatest shocks about this process.
As we share the evidence, we will let the court of public opinion decide, while we continue to pursue our legal options.
The Right to Defend Yourself Lawfully
Peaceful protest. Advocacy. Lobbying. Legal proceedings. Public scrutiny. Requests for answers. These are legal and legitimate mechanisms through which all decent and lawful citizens should be able to defend themselves in a democratic society.
The alternative would effectively be to give up on our lives, the truth, our reputations and freedom, and accept what we believe was a mammoth, life-destructive attack against us. It is exactly what the BBC expected and wanted us to do (as so many have likely done before) but, despite the challenge it represented, we absolutely refused to do that.
As truth-loving, God-loving and principle-centred Christians — standing not just for ourselves but for every citizen vulnerable to the same life-destructive attacks by giant institutions — we believe there are circumstances in which refusing to defend yourself is simply not the righteous or responsible course.
Our Christian Support
We are enormously thankful first and foremost to our Lord, our Saviour and Protector, Jesus Christ, who by His grace, blood and sacrifice has given us the greatest freedom and justice we could ever hope for.
We are deeply thankful to our brothers and sisters in Christ at Lighthouse, particularly Paul S. Waugh, for their support throughout this process despite Paul himself being so diabolically attacked and suffering from ill health.
We are also grateful to Christian Concern and to our legal representatives, Michael Phillips, Elliot Wright and Markus Findlay for the significant assistance they have provided.
And we are profoundly appreciative to everyone who has prayed for us and provided financial, material and practical support throughout this trial.
Moving Forward
We know that we are totally innocent, and we were astounded by just how brazen Ms Nye was in spinning such utterly absurd allegations to weaponise the state against us at great cost to all involved.
We are appealing this decision imminently and, if necessary, will seek a judicial review and pursue the matter through every appropriate legal avenue, including the European Court of Human Rights.
As stated above, this case matters because the question is bigger than the three of us:
If an ordinary citizen can be publicly attacked, have their reputation and life destroyed by an Establishment organisation, and then face criminal consequences for attempting to defend themselves through peaceful and lawful means, what lawful protection remains for anyone in the same position?
We are sharing the raw video of our second doorstep attempt of Catrin Nye below in its entirety. This video was deemed by the court as part of the “course of conduct” amounting to harassment. In due course, we will share further evidence to prove our innocence.

This is the first time we’ve been able to speak publicly over a year, and just over two years since we were arrested. While it is a relief, we ought to never have been put in this position when this could have been resolved in such simple ways. We have so much more to share, including evidence that the public do not know about. While we will continue to follow the legal process, that is just one part of truly correcting the falsified public record about Lighthouse Global. While some people may get stressed and worse going through such a process, this has by God’s sheer grace and love, brought me closer to Him and to His people. To increasingly love the truth, reality and seek it out is a blessing. As it is to bless and pray for those who try and destroy our lives, for their own agendas and gain. I know God’s glory is being and will be revealed through this. Thank you Paul and everyone at Lighthouse and beyond for your love and support.

An honour to be associated with you brother. This whole experience of their unceasing life destruction ops on us has been illuminating by the sheer darkness of it. No matter how much the BBC try and weasel their way out of this they won’t be able to. They and everyone associated with this abomination is realising that we will never ever give up!
Eventually.. the whole truth is going to come out and no amount of amateur dramatics from Catrin Nye or anyone else will save them.

The way that the guys conducted themselves makes the arrests, charges and convictions all the more bizarre. I have experienced Amazon delivery drivers who’ve knocked with far more ferver and aggression than what was exhibited in this video.
Again, it baffles people that this could happen through peaceful efforts to seek the truth.
Myself and us all at Lighthouse continue to pray for Catrin Nye and for her repentance.

“do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead even expose them.” Ephesians 5:11. The BBC has grossly and heinously and knowingly lied 100s of times in a single production and deliberately deceived the British public in trying to destroy our lives. This could not be more palpably and critically a matter of extreme public interest and the more they [The BBC and Establishment] try to silence us the more they reveal themselves and quicken the process to proving us right. We keep fighting the good fight; campaigning, lobbying and advocating for the truth, in Christ.
We stand with your brother. Believe me, the truth will prevail and Catrin Nye and her extensive lies will be exposed to the public and to the courts. Playing for time will not work in her favour as this escalates to the higher courts and the public in the public interest. Why she puts her family through this is beyond logic, it’s demonic. I’m really glad that we can now share the video of what actually happened, compared to the false and dramatic story Catrin Nye told. This is just another example of how life destroyers will do whatever it takes, no matter the harm they cause, to push and double-down on their narrative. This is sheer evil.

The weaponisation of resources by the Establishment, trying to destroy innocent people and disempower them, shows the underlying evil and the life destruction that is happening. I pray for Catrin Nye and that she will repent for her wrongdoings. I also pray for all those who are being attacked by the Establishment and its systems, and that they will experience justice.
As someone who grew up believing in the legal system as a place to get justice – it’s actually been a very eye opening and at times heart breaking experience going through these magistrate and crown court trials. I and my co defendants have experienced staggering levels of hypocrisy. The laymen like us had no clue how legal procedures worked until months into the system. This led to horrendous injustices whereby we have the complainant being granted procedures like witness protection to attend court despite the fact that our charge was non-violent. So much so that we weren’t entitled to a jury because our crime was deemed by the law as being so low level! We will be sharing so much more.
God bless the three of you. What you have been put through is a diabolical disgrace. The truth will come out, and this case will be shown for the farce that it is. The truth will come out, and the record will be corrected. The video proves you knocked on her door with peaceful intentions; there was no threat to her.

God bless you all and we stand with you. This case, in my opinion, sets such a precedent to expose the recourse that the average person does not currently have against a powerful institution like the BBC. The BBC do not mind you protesting against them because they can just ignore you and dismiss you. But to hold them accountable through peaceful means of journalism, the same means they use, they do not like. There cannot be one rule for them and another rule for everyone else. That is not acceptable in a free, fair and democratic society. The BBC refused to talk and refused to treat us like human beings, and our brothers here in my view, all they have done is point that fact out.
You’ve all gone through so much to bring the truth out, and though the verdict didn’t go our way this time, the principle of the thing stands and justice will come eventually. We have faith and persevere.
This is a crucial question of freedom for the people now, far beyond just trying to approach a journalist who has intentionally or un-intentionally lied.
If the average Joe can not question and pursue justice, then there is no justice at all.
Big question is here, how ordinary citizens can lawfully defend themselves when they believe a powerful institution has caused serious damage to their lives and reputation? How those that are in control, and that’s not the government, have orchestrated things it near impossible for things to be made right, unless you confront the system itself.
