This open letter to Christian Hacking is the first in a series of open letters calling for his repentance.
Context (for readers new to this)
This is the second open letter to Christian Hacking, appealing to repentance—and it is also written for the wider Body of Christ. The central issue is not one personality or one dispute, but whether Christians are constituted in Christ-like love (Agape), especially under pressure and disagreement.
This open letter is about a 12-minute read.
If you are not familiar with our investigation and case study into Christian Hacking, click on the arrow on the left for more context. If you are familiar already, continue reading below…
- Christian Hacking presented himself to Lighthouse Global as a “very amateur” independent Christian journalist, and we initially aimed to support him as a brother or sister in Christ.
- Lighthouse later concluded that Hacking had a vested interest in demonising us through toxic framing, needing Lighthouse to appear as a “cult” and Paul S. Waugh as a “cult leader”, despite what is extensive contrary evidence.
- We believe this framing served Hacking’s amateur journalistic ambitions by creating a sensational “big scoop”, even if misleading, at our and Paul’s expense.
- Due to Hacking’s deceptive intent, lack of professionalism, and limited audience or reach, we decided we could not work with Hacking.
- Hacking sent Paul a set of 150 questions. These questions were biased, cynical, self righteous, and prosecutorial, demanding answers, despite Paul stating (26 Jan 2026, via audio message) that we could not work with Hacking.
- At minimum this is a petty vendetta, and possibly signs of being a “media plant” connected to the BBC. Both Hacking and Hacking’s father David have praised the BBC.
- If Hacking is smearing Christian communities as “cults” for personal agenda rather than genuine investigation, it must be challenged, hence our case study and linking it to the “Judas Syndrome” educational series.
- This issue is larger than one individual. It is part of a wider, orchestrated “Establishment” strategy to brand close knit communities, and even businesses or parties, as alleged cults to control narratives and ostracise opposition.

This letter is for Mr Hacking—and for the Body of Christ to take seriously and act on.
“Fight Picking and Limelight Chasing” — Christian Hacking

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.” — Matthew 23:35
Christian Hacking is someone who bears the name of Christ and has taken great pains and sacrifices with his wife to raise a large young family.
Yet his behaviour, as he himself admits, shows no clear sign of Christian agape love. Upon closing down his Substack profile, he informed his subscribers that…
“As much as I love writing, observing, critiquing, fight picking and lime light chasing clearly I haven’t yet mastered a way by which to do this in harmony with other pursuits. Nor properly addressed why I like so much the final two verbs on that list.”
Again, as we have made clear previously, this is someone confessing to deliberately picking fights and chasing the limelight as things he “loves”.
There is no mention of how he loves serving and tending to the needs of the brotherhood and sisterhood of Christ here.
There is no mention of how he loves protecting the rights of the vulnerable.
No, he loves picking fights and chasing the limelight.
We have all felt that lure at times—so we are not casting ourselves as perfect angelic beings.
But for a self-identifying Christian to publicly state, in a farewell message, that they love picking fights and chasing the limelight—and to offer no explanation or praise to God—is deeply disturbing.
More so, he shows no clear contrition or remorse for such attitudes.
Arguably, this is at least as, if not more, radically woke than a 5ft 3” white woman identifying as a 6 ft 2” black man.
You see the sad irony is if you had to ask Christian Hacking what God says in the Holy Bible about someone else who loved picking fights and seeking the limelight I guarantee you, based on our extensive experience and study of him, we know he would be able to swiftly reel off scriptures and the many sins that person suffers from, but.. and here is the big but.. he won’t do it for himself.
Mr Hacking appears to struggle to honestly look at the condition of his own soul.
He seems quick to judge outwardly because it delays inward scrutiny—but it always catches up with us.
“for they loved the glory of men rather than the glory of God.” — John 12:43
Biblically, “limelight chasing” and “fight picking” are not the same as critiquing or contending for truth.
These traits reveal disordered loves: craving the praise of people rather than God’s approval, acting from selfish ambition and conceit rather than humility (Phil. 2:3–5), and becoming quarrelsome rather than gentle and peaceable (2 Tim. 2:24–25; Titus 3:2; James 3:13–18).
These kinds of traits can and do poison our own souls. So yes, this is about Christian Hacking, but also a warning to all of us to guard our minds and hearts, especially when we have influence with or over a fellow brother or sister in Christ.
Lack of Prayer for a Brother in Christ

“Praying at all times with all prayer and petition in the Spirit, and to this end, being on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints” — Ephesians 6:18
As we’ve shared before, Mr Hacking initially sought to cover the court case of Lighthouse Associates Kris Deichler, Jatinder Kamra and Sukh Singh vs the CPS in 2025.
However, as Mr Hacking probed further, he took it upon himself to start his limelight seeking and fight picking by targeting Lighthouse Global and specifically, our Founder and CEO, Paul S. Waugh.
Despite his desperately ill health at the time, Paul took it upon himself to engage Mr Hacking and invite him to speak together, primarily as brothers in Christ, secondly with Mr Hacking as a journalist.
This is because Mr Hacking claimed he wanted to help us correct the public record about Lighthouse, a record that had been so viciously perverted by the BBC.
Mr Hacking did not take up Paul’s offer to speak for several weeks, despite insisting on wanting to do so at first.
Instead, Paul elected to send Mr Hacking several audio messages to try and connect as brothers in Christ first, to pray for Mr Hacking numerous times, to thank him for his support, and to see where and if Paul could actually help Mr Hacking, the aspiring amateur journalist.
Paul shared several personal, heartfelt prayers with Mr Hacking at the end of 2025 and at the beginning of 2026.
Christian Hacking never reciprocated any of these prayers from Paul; they were met with silence, while he sent 150 cynical, prosecutorial, biased and prejudiced questions to Paul.
He then took to his own platform to ask his readers to pray for him—why? Because it repeatedly appears to have been about him, in the name of serving Christ and His Body.
That is not to say we ought not to ask for prayer, but Christ specifically commands us to pray for one another, and it is actually one of the very core reasons for prayer.
On one occasion, Paul literally prayed for Christian Hacking to reciprocate his prayers by sharing prayers back.
As an insight, here is the final prayer that Paul sent to Christian Hacking:
How would you have felt receiving these kinds of prayers from a brother in Christ?
Would you at least want to reciprocate, out of goodwill, even if you were sceptical about the genuineness of their faith?
Paul did not know how genuine Christian Hacking’s faith was, and yet he continued to pray for him.
What is Christian Hacking Missing?
This is not about whether Mr Hacking responded to Paul or not, but why.
Mr Hacking has already confessed some feelings that point to what is missing;
“in my quieter moments I’ve envied [the Lighthouse community’s] fellowship, their submission, their shared struggle, their resolve for truth, and questioned whether I was somehow missing out on a life deeper and richer than the one I now live.”
Why didn’t Christian Hacking simply respond to Paul with some reciprocal love and prayer?
What was stopping him?
At the very least, this appears to be someone not raised in God’s constitutional love—responding coldly to another human being, let alone a brother in Christ. (Paul believed Mr Hacking was a true brother at the time, and there may still be hope if he repents in Christ).

This is the fruit of someone who appears to be extremely cold and siloed inside his own heart. Someone who can pray outside an abortion clinic and hail the name of Jesus Christ. Someone who calls himself a servant of Christ. Someone who has extended himself by way of protest and political campaigning for the safety and rights of babies in wombs at risk of being murdered, but would not pray for a fellow brother in Christ because of his own bias and prejudice.
Let us look to what the Holy Spirit, by way of the Apostle Paul, has taught us;
“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.” — 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
This is the tragedy across millions in the Body of Christ. Trying to live for God, serve God, campaign for God and His people… but without love, because we have never actually been constituted in knowing His love.
This is why it is not only imperative to be born again, but to be raised again —in God’s love.
The Dangers of Family-Idolatry
“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” — Matthew 10:37
There is another sign as to why Mr Hacking may have never shown any genuine loving extension to Paul… because we believe very strongly that he is still chasing after the love of his birth father, Lord David Hacking.
It’s highly likely that Christian Hacking isn’t so much “limelight chasing” as he stated, but chasing after the lack of love and attention from his father.
It is also highly likely that Christian Hacking’s “fight-picking” is his attempt to get back at any strong male figure who symbolically represents the resentment he feels towards his father, Lord David Hacking.
We have experienced a lot of these dynamics with family members of our clients who tried to destroy Paul by weaponising UK government agencies and the media.
We have covered this syndromic condition extensively in previous open letters, both to Christian Hacking and to his father.
We strongly suspect and believe that Christian Hacking has much unresolved trauma and issues of neglect with his own father.

Something many of us at Lighthouse Global have experienced in our own families, and have gone to great lengths both within this community and outside with external professional help, to resolve these issues and traumas.
When a relationship with one’s own father is in such a troublesome state, we know first-hand that many times, that pain, hurt and sense of mistrust can get projected onto an authority figure, or onto a strong male individual like Paul S. Waugh.
This has been part of the price Paul has been willing to pay for the sake of his and our work and for the vulnerable and innocent we aim to serve; that many would attack him, not because of who he was, but because of the toxic and diabolical projections others hurled onto him.
But that willingness does not mean that we mustn’t hold our attackers accountable for the damage they have caused —and prevent further damage and destruction to us and others.
The Need to Be Constituted in God’s Love
“See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we would be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” — 1 John 3:1
How many of us are missing a father figure, or anyone, who truly took it upon themselves to love us, as Christ loves us? (As much as that is humanly possible in Christ)
How many of us have unwittingly or wittingly rejected love, mentorship, counsel, affection and intimacy because we were scared of being rejected, or hurt again?
How many of us are yearning not only to be loved, but to love—to truly give the love Christ has given to us, so that we can love, serve and build one another up? (John 13:34-35)
Being truly constituted in God is such a huge issue. One that most are wholly uninformed about… at best, we have a shallow, narrow and superficial understanding of it.
The dangers of not addressing this gaping hole in our lives are evident in the tragic example of Christian Hacking. We all deeply need the love and constitution of our Father God. But that is not an excuse to be as Mr Hacking; reckless, careless, irresponsible, unrepentant and unashamed of the damage and destruction he has caused to himself, his family, the Body of Christ and to the Lighthouse Global community.

Christian Hacking has made it clear to us before that he did not want mentoring from Paul. It was never Paul’s intention to mentor Mr Hacking, but God knows he needs it.
Mr Hacking did not want someone else to point out his foolishness to him in a mentoring relationship. Consequently, he has revealed it publicly and globally. Sadly, despite all the reasons that Christian Hacking ought to have stopped his limelight chasing and fight-picking, it was only when we requested Lord Hacking’s intervention that his son took some action.
Above all, here, our prayers and hopes are for Mr Hacking to take this to heart, to stop running from the truth and seek the love and support he needs, whether that is in the form of mentorship, coaching, counselling, or all of the above.
And for the Body of Christ: do not mistake public zeal for constitutional love. Pursue the love of God that truly raises us—not only to be born again, but raised in Christ unto the perfection He so desires for us.
In Christ and for His Glory,
The Lighthouse Global community

There is so much in here that I have personally struggled with and frankly, still do. I know it can be excruciatingly difficult to face the painful and bitter realities about one’s own family, especially parents. In that insecurity and deep void of love, comes a perverted attention-seeking hunger. The desire to feel significant, important and self-righteous, but that always comes at the expense of our own sanity, health and the sanctity of those targeted.
So while I understand and can empathise with Mr Hacking, I cannot condone his lack of repentance. To have not made any significant headway after nearly two months of accountability by this Lighthouse community, is frankly diabolical. Yet he was very quick-tempered to come and report on a court case and then invite himself to probe and prod into the very, very personal matters of Paul, myself and other brothers and sisters here at Lighthouse.
I am not holding my breath, but he is in my prayers. Meanwhile I hope this is a valued education, source of encouragement and support for our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ.
Repentance is the only way that any progress can be made after a mistake, or error of judgement has been made. We are all fallen, we all make mistakes, but only by repenting to Christ and by caring for each other can we become better people and advance any relationship.
I truly hope that Christian Hacking is humbled by the care that has been shown to help and implore him to look to Christ’s standard and example. It is our duty as followers of Christ to be honest where another has caused harm and despite addressing Christian Hacking many times, to date, he has not only been unresponsive but shown no concern, care or gratitude for anyone here…this is alarming and concerning.
We pray that he finally hears this call to take responsibility and repent.
I pray for Christian Hacking, that he recognises his wrongdoing and that he will repent. This is not about never making mistakes; we are all sinners, and we can and ought to improve every single day. However, we need to learn to take responsibility for our actions, and that is what appears to be missing in Christian Hacking’s behaviour. Instead of reflecting on himself and his family’s past, he attacks those whom he initially claimed he wanted to support.
Please take responsibility, Mr Hacking and learn what Christian love really is!
Phew, the call for Christian Hacking to repent is a righteous one. When I hear this so called Christian make statements like limelight chasing and fight picking, my word, there is something missing there.
Spot on, right at the core is a lack of love. If you had the love of Christ, this world wouldn’t hold anything for you, and thus limelight chasing would be far removed from you, as there would be a greater force pushing you.
Again, well mentioned regarding the lack of prayer, warning sign!!! I can’t comprehend someone not praying for someone else who believes they are a Christian.
What a meaningful and touching letter to Mr Hacking, despite the current conditions of his unrepentant state. I really pray and hope that he reads this and is willing to bow his head and humbly pray and ask for Christ’s forgiveness, and for a reconciliation to happen between the brothers here, and across the whole body of Christ where this exists. I really appreciate the learning element of this for the wider body of Christ, and to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and as we’ve been learning, to trust and love Him with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength. God bless us all and I pray for Mr Hacking. Thank you.
This is an incredibly loving, caring and compassionate open letter to Christian Hacking. It demonstrates yet more vital lessons for the Body of Christ to learn. I pray that Christian Hacking is able to use this experience and what we’ve shared to learn and grow through repentance.
There are some profound insights shared in this open letter that have come from our hard-earned research from the last 21+ years. What we’re sharing and how we’re sharing it completely flies in the face of what the likes of the BBC, the Insolvency Service and the Daily Mail have to say about Lighthouse Global.
I pray that our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ are able to take this letter and use it – to help them to discern the threats inside and outside the Body.
This is a very powerful letter and I really hope Mr Hacking reads it with the love that it is given, despite it being painful.
It needs to be noted what was written – that we ourselves do not claim to be anywhere close to perfect. However we have attempted to look inward and not abide the trust of others.
I pray for Mr Hacking and his family.
I know that this is not something anyone at Lighthouse wants to be writing about and neither do they relish it in ay way shape or form, but it’s important to hold such behaviour accountable and to make an example of stories like this with Mr Hacking for all of us to learn from. At the end of the day, the facts speak for themselves and they are here for every Christian to consider for themselves. I thought the questions asked after the recordings of Paul’s prayers were objective and fair and highlight so much of what’s not been forthcoming from Mr Hacking’s side in this. The part of the question that says, “even if you were sceptical about the genuineness of their [Paul’s] faith” acknowledges the fact that this might be the case, but that Christ is calling us to rise above such things in order to represent Him truly. I also appreciate the factors considered, such as Mr Hacking’s relationship with his earthly father, Lord Hacking and how it’s so profoundly true that it’s “not only imperative to be born again, but to be raised again, in God’s love.” My prayers go out for Mr Hacking to heed the call of this article and for God to be glorified as much as possible through this.
This is a really fair and powerful piece holding Mr Hacking accountable. What strikes me most is the observation that the list of things that he loves does not include something similar to serving his brothers and sisters in Christ or loving God… how very revealing. Particularly with how he’s treated Paul and us here, basically treating us exactly like the BBC has in the name of not wanting to be like them.
Thank you so much for sharing the above with us all. What I felt when reading this was the love and sincerity with which Paul has been reaching out to him, and his desire to help him as a brother (or what he believes to be) in Christ. Paul’s prayers reflect a man who is deeply concerned for another, but to me, they show Mr Hackings’ true character by his not even reciprocating a prayer to Paul or Lighthouse.
I pray for Mr Hacking and his family, because reading what he said when he closed his site down, the lack of love he showed for Christ, because without Him, he wouldn’t have had a site in the first place. The way that he spoke of family before Christ…This is why I pray for him.
Thank you to everyone involved in putting this together and sharing so that we can understand Mr Hacking a little more and enable us to pray specifically for him where it is needed. I pray that Mr Hacking takes everything that you have shared with him on board and can and will make the necessary changes and repent…
God bless us all…Amen
