1. Today’s Update – Why Citizen BBC Verify Is Needed For All Citizens: Citizen BBC Verify exists for one simple reason: if the BBC claims the authority to “verify” everyone else, it must also be subject to verification, scrutiny, and correction by ordinary citizens.

It has been an epic week with the launch of Citizen BBC Verify. In this update we wanted to take the opportunity to reinforce how deeply necessary Citizen BBC Verify is to confront the heinous and insidious Modus Operandi of the BBC. 

The BBC have spent decades positioning themselves as the trusted narrator of the news and therefore ‘reality’, while forcing citizens to fund the organisation under threat of criminal prosecution.

It has gone a step further with “BBC Verify”: an institutional stamp that effectively says, “we verify everyone else.” But when the BBC themselves are challenged by others for their deception, lies and double-standards, they default to silence and deflection, while protecting their own interests and agenda.

That is why Citizen BBC Verify is desperately needed.

Because when an organisation with the reach and power of the BBC can broadcast a global reputational hit-and-run-piece, and then refuse any serious scrutiny, the issue is no longer just about responsible journalism. It is about protecting the citizens who are subject to such a Goliath’s destructive deceit and manipulation.

So we have turned the lens back where it rightfully belongs:

2) The BBC’s Real Charter (As Lived, Not Stated By Them)

Demonstrating what the BBC’s operational charter appears to be, as revealed by consistent patterns of behaviour rather than what they claim.

The BBC’s “real charter” (i.e. who they really are) has seven repeated institutional traits, including:

• Preserving their establishment credibility.
• Controlling the narrative of “truth.”
• Applying verification selectively and deceptively.
• Protecting favoured journalists and sources.
• Suppressing, covering up and minimising their scandals rather than exposing them.
• Redirecting their own criminal and other wrongdoing onto “soft targets” to mislead the public.
• Generating extortionate funding and influence through an illusion of neutrality and impartiality.

3) Applying BBC Verify’s Standards to “A Very British Cult”

This is the first “test case.” Practically showing you how BBC Verify’s claimed standards would expose the manipulative, deceptive programme, A Very British Cult. On examination, the programme clearly fails the BBC’s own tests by far.

It evaluates six areas:

1. Source transparency and reliability
2. Evidence handling and corroboration
3. Editing integrity (missing context and manipulation by omission)
4. Impartiality and conflicts of interest
5. Right of reply and fair representation
6. Corrections, accountability, and openness to challenge

The Need for Citizen BBC Verify

If BBC Verify is a real standard, it must apply to the BBC itself.

If it does not, then “verification” is a complete farce – at yours and our expense.

3. Today’s Daily “Citizen/Christian and the Establishment Problem” Example

“Father Ted” Creator Graham Linehan Shares Armed Arrest With US Congress

What you’re about to read is not an abstract debate about free speech, but a warning about how modern power actually works. The establishment no longer needs to openly ban speech or jail dissidents. It has learned something far more effective: how to destroy people quietly, plausibly, and with seemingly clean hands.

Graham Linehan spent three decades successfully writing comedy for British television, fully inside the cultural mainstream, most notably for the series “Father Ted”. Yet his life began to collapse only when he started to voice positions that, until very recently, were considered ordinary and humane: that women need single-sex spaces, that children should be protected from experimental medical interventions, and that women deserve fair competition in sport. For holding these views, he was not debated, rebutted, or corrected. He was targeted. His career collapsed, his marriage broke down, and eventually he was driven out of his own country. Mr Linehan shares how this malicious targeting towards him included being detained at Heathrow Airport by five armed police officers when his plane landed. He was on his way to give evidence in a court trial!

This is how establishment control now operates. There is no single censor issuing decrees. Instead, subvertive control  is outsourced. Employers terminate contracts. Police “harass” rather than prosecute. Banks close accounts. Publishers drop authors. Platforms suspend users. Each institution can claim it is merely following policy, avoiding controversy, or managing risk. The state’s fingerprints are nowhere to be seen, yet the punishment is total and undeniably agenda-driven. You technically get to keep your formal right to speak, but in reality you lose the ability to live freely.

Mr Linehan’s warning is that the Establishment doesn’t need to prove you wrong; it only needs – and wants – to make an example of you. No arguments are addressed, no flaws are identified. Dissent is treated not as something to be challenged, but as something to be eradicated.

What makes this especially dangerous is the ideological certainty behind it. Anyone who refuses to affirm the approved narrative is framed as hateful, dangerous, or morally corrupt. Once that framing sticks, any punishment becomes justified. The “chilling effect” spreads far beyond the initial target. Colleagues watch what happens and learn to obey the system. Friends stop talking to you, they stay silent. Institutions comply pre-emptively. Over time, whole professions become intellectually hollowed out, populated not by those who speak honestly, but by those who know how to repeat the “correct” phrases that please the Establishment. This is not accidental. A culture trained to self-censor is far easier to manage than one that argues back.

The deeper warning here is not just about one ideology or one country. It is about a governing class that no longer allows open debate and no longer believes the public can be persuaded. Instead, it relies on reputational destruction, economic pressure, and bureaucratic intimidation to enforce compliance. Once this machinery is totally normalised, it can be turned on anyone, for any reason, at any time. Mr Linehan’s message is stark but urgent and necessary: the price of speaking, as more people are discovering, is deliberately made so high that most never dare to pay it. Do not allow yourself to fall into this trap. The Establishment want you and every citizen isolated, weak, vulnerable. We are far more empowered by coming together with others willing to defend the truth, speak the truth and more importantly stand by the truth where it really counts, and take the hits. We must set the reverse example – encourage others to not buckle, but to hold integrity to what is true and right, even when we know we pay a heavy price for it.
