30th September 2026 — Lighthouse Wednesday Update — Why Did Paul S. Waugh Call His Letter “God Help You, Catrin Nye”?

Lighthouse Daily – 30th September 2026…

Good evening, fellow citizens and brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today’s update is about a three-minute read.

1. Our Personal, Interpersonal & Global Commission from Christ: Speaking the Truth in Love

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” — Ephesians 4:15 (NIV)

Christ does not ask us to choose between truth and love.

Truth without love can become cold, proud and destructive. Love without truth can become sentimental permission for sin and falsehood to continue. Christian maturity requires both: the courage to speak what is true and the humility to desire repentance, restoration and reconciliation rather than another person’s destruction.

That standard applies first to us. Before we call anyone else to account, we must ask God to search our hearts, expose our sin and correct what is false in us. We do not stand above those whom we challenge. We stand with them beneath the authority of Jesus Christ, who is the Truth.

May God give us the courage to face truth without egoic self-protection, the grace to correct without hatred and the love to seek another person’s salvation even when serious accountability is necessary.

2. Introducing Part Seven of “God Help You, Catrin Nye” Commentary

Today we introduce the seventh part of Paul S. Waugh’s commentary series on his open letter to Catrin Nye.

The title “God Help You, Catrin Nye” is impactful, but may be misunderstood. Some may read those words and decide what they mean before engaging with Paul’s actual argument, his stated intentions or the Christian conviction from which he writes.

This commentary confronts that judgement directly. Paul explains precisely why he chose the title and the deeper question those words place before every one of us.

3. Read the Commentary in Full

Read the article in full. Test its claims, its spirit and its Christian reasoning against the evidence — not a fragment, an assumption or somebody else’s characterisation.

Then return to the question Christ places before us: can we tell the hardest truth about wrongdoing while still desiring repentance, restoration, reconciliation with God and eternal life for the person responsible?

You are in our prayers.

God bless,

Paul S. Waugh, Chris Nash and Shaun Cooper

Given Paul’s longstanding ill health resulting from the multiple Establishment attacks on him, these updates are generated by the team, drawing from Paul’s recent and earlier words and what we are working with here at Lighthouse. We ask you to keep him in your prayers as he builds strength and renews in our Lord.

This is very powerful, and timely for me. These words especially ring so true for me to go to God to show me where I truly am in my own soul, so that I can be more loving and take a stronger stand for the truth, firstly inside myself;

“ Before we call anyone else to account, we must ask God to search our hearts, expose our sin and correct what is false in us. We do not stand above those whom we challenge. We stand with them beneath the authority of Jesus Christ, who is the Truth.”

Thank you Paul and everyone for the work happening here.

We all need help, and we all need help from God. I appreciate how the title of this open letter contains a message for us all. Catrin Nye isn’t special in this instance. The tragic position she finds herself in is one where she doesn’t even consider where she is in terms of her relationship with God and with Christ’s atonement. God help Catrin Nye and all at the BBC…

This is a very profound article – I especially value the distinction of what happens if we only have love or truth and hence why we need both. It’s very rare to hear both discussed together – in society love is discussed a lot conceptually and truth a bit – however rarely why both have to work together. It shows how much we need God’s help

Thank you for this update. Christ’s love is so lacking in this world, which is why this work in Christ is so crucial not just in our case with Catrin Nye and the BBC, but for so many others whom we need to become an example to, simply by conscience alone.

God bless you, Paulie, and everyone at Lighthouse. May God grace us and have mercy on us all, and may His justice and accountability reign. Amen.

God be with us all as we appreciate and value the necessity of both truth and love and their power when held together in everything we do 🙏

A very necessary commentary on a really key part of the letter. To take this out of context or misrepresent it would be to fundamentally not understand the heart of the issue or the spirit with which it’s intended. Paul has made the intention to resolve this situation very clear, and he like me and the rest of us would love to see Catrin Nye and the rest of the BBC repent and come to Jesus. What a triumph for His glory that would be

The title of this series makes it very clear: Catrin Nye and the BBC need help from God. They have been acting very diabolically, and ultimately, we all need help. Help without love and truth leads in all kinds of directions where we don’t want to go. So, thank you for this article and clarification. God bless.

Thank you for this update and for sharing the next in the article series on God Help Catrin Nye. We all need help, no matter what we might say. We can’t get through life without God; He makes things happen, not us. Truth and love come together; one without the other just won’t happen. God bless you and all of us…

The title here applies to us all as we all need help from God.
The only difference being who is willing to ask for that help and who is not.
This is the crucial distinction that we all need to make and be humble enough to see it and ask for His help.
