1. Today’s Update
Good day everyone,
We sincerely and deeply need to say sorry to you and to our sister Isabel Vaughan-Spruce.
Yesterday in our email update, the title for the article about Isabel’s trial used the term “anti-abortion cult” instead of “abortion cult”. One word completely changes the meaning of the statement. It was a mistake that came through an error in our quality control and we have immediately rectified it to ensure it does not happen again. Words are extremely important, powerful and can have life-inspiring or devastating effects. The BBC have as we know, falsely and maliciously smeared Lighthouse as a cult. Where we have made any mistake, we take responsibility and repent for it. This is not the first time we have taken responsibility for a mistake, albeit an unwitting one, it still has consequences we must correct.
By contrast, the BBC has not taken responsibility for its murderous actions against Lighthouse and for all intents and purposes, almost certainly will not. It seems that they only do so when there is significant public scrutiny, or when a greater authority such as President Donald Trump, exposes their heinous wrongdoing. This, among many other reasons is why they and their journalist Catrin Nye must absolutely, lawfully, peacefully and responsibility be held to full account for their deliberate, wilful, malicious wrongdoing, cover-up of their wrongdoing and refusal to make their wrongs right.
We remain steadfast in standing with our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, like Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, and others whom we are yet to know. On to today’s update…
Today’s update addresses the environment we are all now living in — one saturated with propaganda designed to bypass reason and manipulate emotion. Increasingly, images and narratives are curated to provoke instant moral reactions while withholding crucial context, like they did against us at Lighthouse. This does not merely distort public debate; it erodes discernment itself. For Christians in particular, this is not a media issue alone, but a spiritual battleground where truth, wisdom, and conscience are under sustained pressure.

Today’s Daily Prayer reflects on the profound gift of having our eyes opened to who we truly are in Christ. 3. Today’s Daily “Citizen/Christian and the Establishment Problem” Example
We Are All In A Propaganda War!
Pastor Josh Howerton implores Christians today – and indeed anyone – to understand that they are operating in an environment saturated with propaganda, where emotionally charged mainstream media is deliberately used to bypass reason, suppress truth, and drive instant moral reactions. This is not accidental. It is strategic. It is a warzone unlike any other before.
A recent example discussed by Mr Howerton and shown in the video below, illustrates the problem clearly. The video, which is circulating online, shows a young woman crying as an elderly man is arrested by immigration authorities. The framing is deliberate; the audience is meant to feel immediate sympathy for this young lady and the elderly man. They are meant to feel outrage toward law enforcement, specifically the ICE agents. What the clip does not disclose, however, is the wider context. That this elderly man was allegedly harbouring two illegal immigrants who were convicted rapists. By removing this fact, the video transforms a lawful and necessary arrest protecting children, into a narrative of cruelty and injustice against the elderly. The deception lies not in what is shown, but in what is omitted.
This is how modern propaganda functions. It does not always rely on outright lies. Instead, it curates reality, strips away context, and weaponises emotion, like the BBC did very clearly in A Very British Cult against Paul Waugh and Lighthouse. Tears, facial expressions, music, and selective editing are used to create moral conclusions before truth is examined.
For Christians, this poses a serious spiritual danger. Scripture warns repeatedly against being led by appearances and feelings rather than wisdom and truth. Emotional manipulation can feel like compassion, but compassion without truth becomes distortion. When believers react instantly to viral content, they risk surrendering their God-given discernment and become indoctrinated participants in narratives deliberately designed by the Establishment.
This does not mean Christians should be cold, unfeeling, or supportive of injustice. Nor does it mean authority should never be questioned. It means that truth must come before reaction, and wisdom before outrage. When emotion becomes the primary driver, moral judgment collapses and deception flourishes.
We are living in a time when short clips, headlines, and images are designed to provoke hostility to a particular agenda of the Establishment. They want us divided, hating one another and therefore incredibly weak. Why? The Establishment fears a mass population of critically thinking, wise, sharp, discerning, responsible and proactive citizens. If Christians allow themselves to be driven by emotion alone, they will become the very thing Jesus Christ warns us not to be – conformed to Satan’s world, be easily steered, easily divided, and thereby easily deceived. This is not merely a media problem. It is a spiritual battleground. Every Christian and conscientious citizen has the responsibility to slow down, reflect, seek context, and test everything against truth. Discernment is no longer optional; it is essential – this is literally life or death! The call is clear.
Do not be swept along by what feels right in the moment. Do not surrender judgment to emotional imagery. Stand firm in truth, exercise wisdom, and refuse to let propaganda shape your conscience. As Mr Howerton says on the full podcast, “don’t let the need for the enforcement of immigration law turn you into someone who has no love for illegal immigrants”.
4. Lighthouse Associates Consensus Feedback
The following is an excerpt from feedback that was shared with Paul by Lighthouse associates following reflections on his recent calls with them.
Over the past day or so, we’ve found ourselves sitting with a growing weight of clarity and conviction. As different events, conversations, and reflections have converged, it’s become harder to ignore how deeply shaped we’ve been by systems that train people into fear, conformity, and silence—often at odds with truth, conscience, and even basic reality. What we’re seeing isn’t confined to one institution or sector; it runs through medicine, media, law, politics, and culture at large.
Hearing that medical professionals can risk their livelihoods for stating biological facts, or that parents are asked to define an infant’s identity before that child can even speak, has stirred something visceral in us. It feels like a line has been crossed. Men and women who entered their professions to protect life, health, and the vulnerable are now being pressured to comply with narratives they know are untrue. The cost of dissent has become frighteningly high, and fear is doing much of the enforcing.
Being present at court, especially witnessing the treatment of someone as gentle and peaceable as Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, sharpened this awareness further. The process itself felt punitive—drawn out, inefficient, and needlessly exhausting—less about justice and more about wearing people down. Yet even there, we saw signs of hope: ordinary members of the public who are beginning to recognise that something is deeply wrong, even if they wouldn’t yet call themselves Christians. The realisation that many people do see it, but feel isolated and unsure where to stand, keeps returning to us. There is awakening, but little unity – hence the need for 1DC through The Lighthouse and other Citizen and Christian Interventions.
Alongside this, many of us have been confronting more personal realisations. We’re seeing how thoroughly conditioned we’ve been—not only in what we think, but in how we react, what we avoid, and where we seek comfort. The impulse to dismiss uncomfortable truths, to numb ourselves with distraction, or to choose ease over stillness hasn’t come from nowhere. It’s been learned, reinforced, and rewarded over years. Recognising that has been sobering, even painful, but also clarifying. It doesn’t excuse our choices, but it does explain how much re-learning and repentance are required.
There’s been a parallel humbling in recognising our own limits and weaknesses—physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. Whether through time in prayer, time in Scripture, or even being confronted with our fragility in very practical ways, we’re being brought back to reality: to who we actually are, not who we imagine ourselves to be. In that humility, Christ’s strength feels more real, not theoretical. Watching how He bore false accusation without fear or compromise has taken on new weight for us, especially as we sense more trials ahead.
We’re also increasingly aware of how fragmented the Body of Christ has become, and how much suffering that causes believers who feel alone in their families, workplaces, and communities. That fragmentation helps explain both the ferocity of the attacks we see and the urgency of the work before us. This is why The Lighthouse feels so necessary—not just to expose what is destructive, but to help people learn how to discern, to think, and to stand together without fear.
Even conversations about AI, economics, and the rapid hollowing-out of meaning, all point in the same direction. As technology advances and systems become more dehumanising, people will be forced to either hide from reality (which is not actually possible), or grapple with who they are and what gives their lives value. Character, truth, courage, and faith are no longer abstract virtues; we are realising how essential they actually are.
Through all of this, gratitude keeps surfacing. Gratitude for eyes being opened, even when it’s uncomfortable. Gratitude for patience shown to us over many years. Gratitude for Scripture that continues to prove painfully accurate. And gratitude that, despite the darkness we’re seeing, God is clearly at work—drawing His people out of confusion, training us to suffer well, and calling us to stand for truth together.
May God protect those on the front lines, strengthen the weary, and bind His Body together in love and courage. We sense that the time ahead will demand much of us—and in line with this we are being prepared by our Lord, through the blessing of His Holy Spirit and this community. The latest fruit of this propaganda war is shocking. It’s been building for decades, and has ramped up in recent years. That’s not about taking a political side, but learning how to discern and not believe what we see at first sight. As Pastor Howerton points to, “The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.” – Proverbs 18:17. I can see the propaganda doing one thing – driving a wedge in humanity to make the non-establishment masses war with each other, hate each other, dehumanise each other, instead of wake up to realise we are all being played by our real enemy, Satan and his establishment cult.
We are certainly in the middle of a propaganda war! Lately I’ve been learning from the work of Sharyl Attkinson and her exposure of smear campaign tactics. What’s revealing is how the woke media will make accusations of right-leaning or more conservative figures being fascists or Nazis. This is quite ironic because a lot of the propaganda tactics they employ were documented by Adolf Hitler’s chief propagandist, Joseph Goebbels.
It is because of our experience with the BBC that I start to see everything they state with healthy scepticism and suspicion. They have a background in propaganda (George Orwell produced propaganda for them during WWII) and even today are described as a ‘soft power’ asset for the UK. This basically means they are a propaganda instrument for the British Establishment! They are prepared to lie to and deceive the British public whilst demanding billions from them each year.
With this all in mind, this is why Citizen Intervention Global is so needed.
Thank you very much for this update and apologies again to Isabel, thankfully we can go to our Lord Jesus Christ and repent for our wrongdoings. I pray that will happen for the BBC and Catrin Nye also. Thank you for sharing the work Josh Howerton is doing, that’s really incredible and much needed in this world of deception and darkness, especially across the media.
The scripture shared, proverbs 18:17, “The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.” Highlights the critical point here, mainstream media isn’t your friend, far from it, treat them with suspicion and we’ll unlikely fall for their lies. This blind faith is killing us all. They once were worthy of that faith but not anymore…Keep a watch out!!!
As my mentor once told me, ‘It’s not the fact that you made a mistake, it’s what you do to correct it and make your wrongs right, that counts.’
Spinning reality and selectively choosing which facts to frame and show in a particular light is exactly what the BBC and mainstream media are taught to do to sell copies and get ratings. They will twist truth into lies and ruin anyone’s life in order to get their own message and agenda pushed forwards.
Thank you. In the time we are living in, there are countless ways to manipulate people and steer them away from the truth. We carry phones in our pockets and have screens in our living rooms, and we are constantly bombarded with information. It is our responsibility to discern what is true, what is false, and how we respond to what we consume.
This requires genuine discernment. The consequences of a lack of discernment are evident throughout history, especially in times of war, where propaganda has often played a decisive role. Today, we are not only facing physical conflicts but also a spiritual war, one that demands effort, wisdom, and intentionality to uncover the truth that lies beneath deception.
As Scripture reminds us:
“That your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best.” – Philippians 1:9–10
Reminds me to be on my guard, keep on the watch and remain vigilant. We don’t like being duped or deceived and there is so much mainstream content deliberately designed to withhold context, facts and the truth…

Thank you for showing how mainstream media tyrannically manipulate articles to get their story and to make them the good guys for reporting what they do. This is what the BBC have done to Lighthouse in their tyrannically manipulated docu-mythry.

God bless the humility and sincere openness of the team to own and repent for the error that was made. It’s such a key trait of good character and goes to demonstrate further what this site is about in terms of growth and development despite our flaws. We are all deeply flawed and broken through our imperfection and sin, but it’s how we respond and strive to do better that counts.
Thank you also for the Josh Howerton video and the hugely important lessons in that. This is how people are controlled and manipulated by an establishment that has a particular agenda, through the omission of key facts and truths that change the context and meaning of what we see and hear completely. This is satanic manipulation 101, especially when you learn about the types of people that was designed to protect and the realities it was trying to hide from the public, through playing on their emotions and ignorance. It’s chilling and the more one thinks about it the more evil it clearly stands out to be. As followers of Christ and those who seek truth, we need to as discerning as possible and seek all the facts and truth at all times. We live in a world of lies and deceit and need to be wise as serpents while remaining innocent as doves. God bless Pastor Josh for making these videos in order to help people with this.
