Good day everyone,
Today’s update includes a sobering political reflection that sits alongside our prayer and wider feedback from the community. 3. Today’s Daily “Citizen/Christian and the Establishment Problem” Example
Liz Truss States How She Was Threatened By The Establishment To Pursue Their Policies
This account from Ex-British Prime Minister Liz Truss should act as a sobering warning to anyone who still believes real power sits with elected politicians. Whatever you think of her premiership or policies, her testimony exposes something far more unsettling than party politics: the reality that prime ministers themselves can be cornered, threatened, and overridden by forces they do not control.
Ms Truss describes having a metaphorical “gun to her head”, not from voters or Parliament, but from what she calls the economic establishment. She says she was told that unless she reversed course, the country would be plunged into an economic “IMF-style 1976 crisis,” unable to fund its debt. Her claim is not merely that she made mistakes under pressure, but that the crisis itself was manufactured to force compliance. In that moment, the message was clear: follow the approved script, or the system will break you. That is not democratic accountability; it is coercion.
More revealing still is her conclusion that meaningful change from within the system may be impossible. Ms Truss describes ministers as reduced to “robot-like” figures under collective responsibility, while vast unelected institutions such as central banks, regulators, financial authorities operate with enormous influence and minimal scrutiny. When things go wrong, politicians take the blame, the media turns them into pantomime villains or fools, and the public is invited to laugh or rage at personalities rather than question power. Meanwhile, the institutions that actually shape economic reality remain largely untouched. Her account very much agrees with what we recently reported economist Dr Richard Werner has said that the Establishment has bought the Economics profession.
This is how the illusion of democracy is maintained. Politicians are paraded as decision-makers, elections are framed as decisive moments, yet the boundaries of “acceptable” policy are enforced elsewhere. When someone steps outside those boundaries, the consequences are swift and brutal. The individual may fall, the party may change, but the establishment remains intact. The danger is not just that politicians are weak, but that the public is misled about where control truly lies. If voters believe every failure is the fault of one leader or one government, they never look higher up the chain. Ms Truss’s account, stripped of tribal loyalties, points to a deeper truth: until unelected power is exposed and challenged, elections alone will not deliver real change, only new puppets on the same stage. This is why it is so crucial that you educate yourself on the institutions that control your life and how susceptible you are to their power. This begins with the Knowledge of the Establishment.
4. Lighthouse Associates Consensus Feedback
The following is an excerpt from feedback that was shared with Paul by Lighthouse associates following a call with them yesterday.
We’ve been sitting with today’s call and the reflections that followed, and what keeps rising to the surface is a sense that something fundamental has shifted in how we understand the word cult—and, more importantly, how we understand ourselves, our history, and the world that has formed us.
What’s become clearer is that many of the behaviours and sensitivities people point to when making accusations don’t originate here. They are residues of earlier conditioning—macro, sub-macro, and micro systems we were shaped by long before arriving at Lighthouse. When these patterns surface, they are often being unconsciously replayed by people still unlearning decades of formation, rather than imposed by an authoritarian leader as has been implied and claimed.
This reframing has exposed how distorted public conversations about cults have become, often driven by shallow or hostile narratives. The distinction Paulie continues to make matters: truth isn’t found by posturing as “objective,” but by having a genuine motivation to seek it, submit to it, and remain with it when it becomes uncomfortable. Without that, inquiry never goes very far.
We’ve also been struck again by Paulie’s posture toward others—not as abstractions or enemies, but as human beings first. This has brought many of us back to questions of role, duty, and allegiance: what actually guides us, and what draws us toward Christ and truth rather than away from them.
There’s been shared recognition too that our reasons for being here haven’t been static. Some have deepened; others have fallen away. Some people have left because truth began to cost more than they were prepared to pay. That’s painful, but honest. This path exposes what’s really driving us, and that exposure happens in God’s timing, not ours.
Another thread running through all of this is the confrontation with omission—what we soften, avoid, or leave unsaid. Seeing how omission is weaponised by powerful institutions has forced many of us to recognise the same tendency in ourselves. Speaking truthfully requires patience, courage, and a willingness to endure complexity rather than shortcut it.
At the same time, there is gratitude and awe at the scale and depth of what is being built—work developed quietly over years, not reactively but deliberately. Many of us are also holding a paradox: while accusations have been made, this has been the healthiest environment we have known. That distinction is becoming clearer, as is the reality that such accusations often reveal more about the accuser than the accused.
On a personal level, there is grief—over how deeply we’ve been moulded by systems that deform rather than form, and how often suppression was mistaken for safety. Naming that has been painful, but also clarifying.
Across all of this, we’re recognising how much work it takes to step out of indoctrination and into genuine community in Christ. Anything set apart from God, anything that departs from Christ as the standard, becomes a cult—no matter how respectable it appears. Many of us never had language for why we felt out of place in the world. We do now.
Above all, there is gratitude—to God, and for the patience and clarity Paulie continues to offer. We’re not at the end of this understanding, but we’re no longer pretending we don’t see what’s in front of us.
We want to keep going—together, with eyes open, anchored in Christ.

What has become increasingly clear to us is that power does not primarily operate through force, status, or visibility, but through allegiance—through what people are trained to serve, fear, and obey. Understanding cults as a matter of separation from God, rather than fringe behaviour or psychological extremism, has reframed everything. It explains why what appears “normal” in the world is often profoundly disordered, and why systems built on comfort, conformity, and convenience can feel so dominant while being fundamentally hollow.
We’re beginning to see how deeply language, institutions, and culture shape loyalty long before people are aware of it. When words are distorted and meaning is stripped away, reality itself becomes negotiable, and that is where control truly takes hold. In contrast, anchoring ourselves in Christ brings a different kind of stability—one that doesn’t rely on influence or approval, but on truth. That shift is sobering, costly, and at times painful, yet it’s also grounding. For the first time, many of us feel we’ve stopped being moved by every current and can finally begin building on something solid. x x
I’m realising more by the day, whether that’s Liz Truss, President Trump, Vladimir Putin, or any number of issue, that I have been so misinformed, disinformed and misled, about the reality of this world. This makes me want The Lighthouse all the more. God bless you Ms Truss and thank you for speaking openly.
It’s very revealing that the person who spent the least amount of time in Number 10 is also the person who speaks the most about their time as Prime Minister on public forums and podcasts. Liz Truss has spoken openly about the Deep State on a previous podcast whilst Rishi Sunak looked like a rabbit in the headlights when he was asked whether there was a Deep State in a parliamentary session.
On the surface it’s saddening that someone willing to sacrifice to take on the role of Prime Minister to make a difference can’t actually do that because of the Establishment. At a deeper level I’m seeing the reality as to what’s actually going on. The credit for this has to go to the BBC and the Insolvency Service.
Given how short her Premiership was and the utter chaos of the bond markets after her budget, it makes a lot of sense what Liz Truss is saying. If anything I still think she is underplaying the depth of the \establishment i.e the Chairman of the Bank of England has someone else pulling his strings.
It’s fascinating, it’s all like panto. The mask the establishment has created gives the illusion that there is a democratic structure, that problems are being dealt with in a real way. As Liz Truss was pointing out, it’s all orchestrated.

May we take comfort in knowing that Christ has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and may we come together as one body in Him during this critical time.
What is being made evident, is where we think we are in control, in reality, we are not. We have been indoctrinated by the establishment to believe that the choices we make are our own, when in face we are under their control

I really appreciate Liz Truss’ apparent (from what I perceive) honesty and openness about what is really happening in the halls of power and how that reveals the facade that most are bought into. The fact is that Prime Ministers do not have the individual power and authority, but there are people and forces beyond them that do, the establishment. That ought to be massively concerning for us all on two fronts because 1) accountability is being sidestepped by the establishment and 2) the tools and options the public believe they have for creating change are actually a farce. The current system and establishment deny the public that power while making them think they have it. It’s chilling. It is basically a cult and the public are the cultees, duped and indoctrinated into a false perception and belief and strung along in the name of good while being massively limited and controlled.
I appreciate Liz Truss openly sharing her experience as Prime Minister and highlighting how the current system does not allow for any real change. Politicians are reduced to marionettes of the establishment, either repeating what they are told to say or losing their position altogether. This is yet another example of the institutional injustice under which so many innocent people suffer. Real change is urgently needed.
This update is a powerful reminder to stop looking to the world’s version of power and to anchor instead in what truly sustains and transforms. Thank you for bringing this so clearly. God bless
I remember how Liz Truss was absolutely trashed in the press…we must question anything this establishment puts through its corrupted mainstream media…again, this is why we near a truth-focused magazine like The Lighthouse!
