24th September 2026 – Lighthouse Thursday Update – What Happens When the Examiner Is Examined?

Lighthouse Daily – 24th September 2026…

What Happens When the Examiner Is Examined?

Good day, fellow citizens and brothers and sisters in Christ,

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” — Proverbs 10:9 (NIV)

What happens when those who investigate, expose and judge others are finally asked to face the same searching examination themselves?

Today, we introduce the latest article in Paul S. Waugh’s God Help You Catrin Nye Commentary series: God Help You Catrin Nye Commentary: Part Five — Diabolically Controlling Optics Rather Than Facing the Truth.

This is not simply a question about journalism or the BBC. It is a question for every one of us: do we genuinely want the truth, even when it exposes what we would rather keep hidden — or do we protect the image we have built for the world?

Paul S. Waugh’s latest commentary confronts that question directly. It calls the examiner to be examined, the institution to face what lies behind its polished public face, and all of us to recognise that Christian repentance is not the management of appearances. Instead, it is the decision to walk into the light before God.

We invite you to read the commentary carefully, prayerfully and with the same standard applied to Lighthouse Global, the BBC and ourselves.

You are in our prayers.

God bless,

Paul S. Waugh, Chris Nash and Shaun Cooper

Given Paul’s longstanding ill health resulting from the multiple Establishment attacks on him, these updates are generated by the team, drawing from Paul’s recent and earlier words and what we are working with here at Lighthouse. We ask you to keep him in your prayers as he builds strength and renews in our Lord.

It might seem like an obvious answer to give; yes of course we want the truth… but the reality is far worse than that answer. The evidence of this world shows all of us hide from the truth and betray it in the smallest of ways to far bigger instances. To truly be dedicated to the truth, when it burns and hurts our ideas of ourselves is a task so great that I feel it is only possible with the Spirit of God. Lies, deceit and falsehoods have infected and invaded this world for millennia. The BBC being a tragic conduit of those deceptions in the last 100 years.

Amen. The truth can be painful to hear, but it can also be cleansing. To those who run from the truth well have to suffer the consequences in later life. Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life, He came for us sinners and showed us the truth of our sin.

Thank you for opening my eyes further on this subject. I look forward to reading your latest article…

The BBC’s time is up! The truth behind their paragon of virtue image is being dismantled piece by piece and what is behind it is putrid!

This is one big thing that has struck me with journalists (not just Catrin Nye) is that they absolutely hate being questioned in the way that they question others. I have seen that in myself where I would be very happy to ask questions of others, but I would feel uncomfortable when being asked questions.

What I am appreciating is the way that, by God’s grace, I am becoming someone capable of holding myself to a higher standard. That’s only possible by His Holy Spirit… not any self-help book or personal development workshop!

What’s scary is that the Government wants to promote news from the BBC on social media as trusted!! They are trying to perpetuate the myth but the time is up for the BBC being trusted.

As it says in Lamentations 3:40 – Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord! We will all kneel before Him and it is better to do that examination now and come to Him for forgiveness, in repentance, before it is too late, and usher all to do the same.

The way journalists like Catrin Nye handle examination is often one-sided, trying to protect themselves and without a full commitment to facts and truth. They hide behind perceived trust in an organisation, even if that is a thing of the past. That’s why public accountability and correcting the public record are so important.

This is a really powerful update and article. The shining light of truth that leaves nothing hidden or unexposed is such a powerful reality, and one that requires deep repentance and contrition. I know that I, and all of us, are continually growing in this, seeking out the ways in which we can grow further, particularly in the areas where we may still fall short.

We have all fallen short, but it is by the grace of God that He builds us up and continues to transform us. Thank you for this update and for sharing such incredibly profound wisdom. God bless you, Paul, and everyone at Lighthouse. x x

This really hits home! The question of what happens when the examiner is finally examined is so powerful, because it cuts straight through the polished image and asks whether there is actually a willingness to face the truth underneath it. I love the reminder that this is not just about the BBC, but about all of us, including Lighthouse, being willing to have our own conduct exposed, challenged and corrected. And the distinction between managing appearances and genuine repentance is so important. Real repentance means stepping into the light, even when it hurts, and being prepared to let truth, rather than reputation, have the final word.

It is crucial to examine ourselves as much as we examine others. This is a difficult task and one The BBC is reluctant to do, but it is essential in order to find those uncomfortable truths that unless faced and delt with, will hold us back.
