When Life Destroyers Put Their Destruction on Their Target
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” — Matthew 7:3
1. When Accusation Becomes Confession by Conduct
The BBC publicly branded Lighthouse Global a “life-coaching cult” that “ruined people’s lives.” But what happens when those making such an accusation are themselves engaged in conduct intended to destroy livelihoods, relationships, health, safety and years of empirical research and community development?
Part Three of the God Help You Catrin Nye Commentary Series introduces the psychological, moral and spiritual mechanism of projection: placing onto a target the very pattern the targeter’s conduct is producing. It asks a disciplined, evidential question: who did what, what consequences followed, and whose conduct was then attributed to the target?
2. The Standard Must Apply to Us All
This is not a licence to diagnose opponents or place every wrong outside Lighthouse. Jesus Christ’s command applies first to us. We must test criticism, confess what is true, correct what is wrong and make restitution wherever required.
The same standard must then apply to everyone: evidence before identity, conduct before labels, context before condemnation — and the possibility of repentance, restoration and reconciliation for all.
The invitation to Catrin Nye and the BBC remains open: bring the claims, sources and evidence. Lighthouse will bring ours. Let every lie be exposed — including any lie of ours — let every genuine wrong be faced, and the Truth be victorious.

The BBC are increasingly notorious for such human deflection; projecting their crimes, wrongdoing and assault on humanity on to their targets. They have been doing it for decades and normalising it as “news” and in the “public interest”, which millions have swallowed as true for too long. Thank God, literally, for the truth and the fact that truth is exposing the falsehoods and deception at the BBC.
This Daily Update and article raise an incredibly important issue, the one of our assailants accusing us of being who they are! I’ll never forget the experiences of being stood outside the BBC and seeing the reactions of BBC staff. Most were too fearful to even engage us via eye contact or to look at the signs spelling out the abuse inflicted by their colleagues on children. The reason? That their manager may see and that there would be consequences for their career… Err, who’s the coercively controlling cult?!?
I’ve noticed this trend too. Bottom line is that they do not look at themselves and take responsibility and accountability for their wrongdoing. It is extremely vulnerable and even scary to do so, I get it. But it is also essential that we do because without looking at ourselves we cannot repent and acknowledge how fallen we are and how much we need a saviour. That’s my greatest prayer for Catrin Nye and others at the BBC
Matthew 7:3 is such a critical verse. I think of all the hatred in the world because individuals on a micro scale to countries on a macro scale want revenge and never look at themselves. Organisations like the BBC constantly point fingers outwards but rarely look inward.
What the BBC isn’t doing is taking a close look at itself, its own actions and its faults. Instead, it accuses others of wrongdoing, attacks them and often destroys their lives. The BBC’s standards are shockingly low, and there needs to be an option for repentance, restoration and reconciliation for all. God bless 🙏🏻
Truth must be the victor in this situation and not The BBC or Lighthouse. It is fascinating that Lighthouse, the accused, is calling for further investigation and not The BBC or the accusers of Lighthouse.
Surely it should be the other way around? Surely it should be the accusers of Lighthouse that want more investigation and examination?

I really love this update! It brings the whole issue of projection to life and, importantly, keeps bringing us back to the evidence, the actual conduct and the consequences rather than simply accepting labels and accusations. I especially appreciate the honesty of applying the same standard to Lighthouse first, being willing to acknowledge what is true, correct what is wrong and make restitution where necessary. That makes the call for the same standard to be applied to everyone incredibly powerful. There is also something deeply encouraging about keeping repentance, restoration and reconciliation on the table.
The BBC revealed themselves royally in projecting the very thing they are, a dangerous, toxic, tyrannical cult, on to Lighthouse. The level of deflection would be laughable if it wasn’t so tragic.. these people have harboured and enabled sexual predators in their ranks, they have absolutely no leg to stand on when pointing the finger at others!
Matthew 7:3 is such a powerful piece of scripture. Christ is telling us that we need to look at ourselves first before we look at those around us. The BBC need to take this scripture on board and look at themselves before they condemn others.
