Lighthouse Daily – 1st October 2026…
Good evening, fellow citizens and brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s update is about a three-minute read.
1. Our Personal, Interpersonal & Global Commission from Christ: Persevering Because God Preserves His People
“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” — Hebrews 12:1–2 (NIV)
The perseverance of the saints does not mean that determined Christians are always right, that every cause they undertake must succeed or that stubbornness is a spiritual virtue. It means that those who truly belong to Christ are kept by God and therefore continue in faith, repentance and obedience through trial to the end.
We persevere because God preserves us — not to earn salvation, but because His grace is at work within us.
Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice, follow Him and cannot be snatched from His hand (John 10:27–29). The Apostle Paul writes that God, who began a good work in His people, will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6). Scripture therefore grounds our endurance in God’s faithfulness, while calling us to run, watch, repent, obey and keep our eyes fixed on Christ.
This is important to recognise in ourselves and others, because persistence alone does not prove we are right.
Our conduct, claims and motives must remain open to Scripture, evidence, correction and repentance. Yet suffering, opposition and exhaustion do not release Christians from pursuing what is true and right. Christian perseverance is neither self-willed defiance nor passive resignation. It is faithful endurance under Christ’s authority, sustained by His grace whilst governed by truth and love.
2. Introducing Part Eight of “God Help You Catrin Nye Commentary”
Today we introduce Part Eight of Paul S. Waugh’s commentary on his open letter to Catrin Nye: Why Our Anti-Life-Destruction Campaign Against the Establishment and the BBC Will Only Intensify.
If you have not yet read Paul’s open letter to Catrin Nye, you can do so here.
This is not an article to be reduced to its headline or a single, extracted paragraph. It asks readers to engage directly with why our campaign continues, and the Christian, moral and public responsibilities Paul shows are at stake.
3. Read the Commentary in Full
Read the complete commentary carefully and prayerfully. Test its claims against the evidence, its conduct against Scripture and its persistence against the example of Jesus Christ.
The question is not merely whether we will continue. It is whether we will persevere faithfully — remaining truthful, measured, repentant, courageous and fixed on Christ.
You are in our prayers.
God bless,
Paul S. Waugh, Chris Nash and Shaun Cooper
Given Paul’s longstanding ill health resulting from the multiple Establishment attacks on him, these updates are generated by the team, drawing from Paul’s recent and earlier words and what we are working with here at Lighthouse. We ask you to keep him in your prayers as he builds strength and renews in our Lord.

Thank you for this update. There is much we, as Christians, need to realise about why it is important to persevere. God wants us to keep trying; when we fall, to get back up. We also need to keep trying to help others, help them to see their sins, and this is what you are wanting to do with Catrin Paul.
God bless you, and thank you for helping us see this in ourselves as well…
Wow, God’s timing! I heard this earlier today from Rick Renner. I do not take this as coincidence – to persevere in our journeys and especially against the gates of hell, which will crumble…
“Keep this at the very forefront of your mind, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” (James 1:2)
“And this test is your opportunity to prove your faith. You can be broken by it and walk away, or you can push back. And if you push back, he says, here’s what’s going to happen. It will work patience in you. And the word worketh, the Greek word “kata” plus the word “ergadzomai”. Kata means down, ergadzomai is where you get the word for energy or to work.
You put the two words together and here’s what you find out. When you’re under an assault, if you walk away, you can walk away. But if you will push back, something supernatural happens.
When you push back, God joins himself to you.
And Kata from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet, he fills you, he energizes you with what this verse calls patience, which is a horrible translation. It’s the Greek word, huppomeno.
The word huppo means to be under, the word menno means this is my spot, I’m not moving. You put the two words together and it describes a person who says, I don’t care what comes against me, I’m not moving, I’m not budging, I’m not flinching. And the word patience is really better translated endurance.
And it describes the attitude that never surrenders, never gives up, never flinches, never budges, never bends to pressure. It will defend its position and its territory. And it is absolutely divine, but you don’t get it unless you push back. And when you push back, God joins himself to you. And when you push back, God becomes your partner. He fills you with what you need to outlast every attack. Isn’t that amazing?”
A really valuable update. For me what comes to mind is when we first launched David vs Goliath. We offered the BBC the opportunity to sit down and discuss the evidence relating to A Very British Cult in an objective environment. They wouldn’t, so we’ve persisted… which is ultimately the Christian duty to pursue rather than give up and allow the BBC smears to stay.
Thank you, an incredibly timely update. Experientially realising more what it means to persevere in faith and understanding the fruits of that being greater trust and reliance on God for all outcomes and situations. God bless you Paul and everyone at Lighthouse and the wider body of Christ.
Thank you for this update and understanding the context to what perseverance is and isn’t. I can see why wisdom and understanding is needed in order to not misinterpret crucial meaning.
Boom, Christian perseverance!! When truth is the thing we are ultimately committed to, we can keep going without losing our humility, courage or dependence upon God. That is what makes perseverance powerful: we do not endure because we are certain of ourselves, we endure because we are trusting in God!
Giving in to the heinous attacks by Catrin Nye and the Establishment is not an option. It’s important to stand up and persevere for truth and to correct the public record in Christ. Thank you for this crucial update. God bless.
Thank you, I praise God for what He is done within us to persevere despite what we have endured for many years at the hands of the BBC 🙏
Keeping fixed on Christ is the part that leads us correctly and with absolute confidence. It is the biggest reason why I turn towards Christianity and away from atheism. Without a single absolute standard of moral accountability to look towards in Jesus Christ and God, then anything goes! There is no moral ‘right and wrong’ and so we become vengeful and lost. Seeking truth must continue always.
Perseverance of the saints and holding fast, like it says in 2 Timothy has been on my mind a lot lately. The enemy expects us, no, wants us to give up. To run out of steam, to say ‘I can’t do this anymore’. I know that all too well. We all do. But We cannot and must not give up but hold fast until the very end. Jesus is returning soon
