Today’s Feature: Lighthouse Global Case – Years of BBC Distortion & Deception Hidden in Plain Sight
Today’s article exposes how the BBC ran a multi‑year hate and smear campaign against Lighthouse Global, a small, Christian‑rooted human growth and research organisation founded by Paul S. Waugh. Using provably slanderous falsehoods, manipulative editing, stolen private recordings and selective omission, the BBC constructed a one‑sided “cult” narrative while refusing a full, fair right of reply.
For over 16 years of secular research work, Lighthouse faced no legal complaints, no predatory trolling, and no negative media. That changed when Associates began openly engaging with Christianity and the Sermon on the Mount. Within days of a discussion on the Beatitudes being shared internally, the first anonymous anti‑Lighthouse Reddit post appeared. This became the nexus of a five‑year constructive sabotage campaign involving defamatory social media, tabloid hit pieces, weaponised state agencies, loss of livelihood, suicide attempts (as a result of the immense pressure of these attacks), and multiple death threats—culminating in the BBC’s A Very British Cult.
The production leaned on a narrow group of bitter ex‑clients and coercively controlling family members, plus ideologically driven “cult expert” Alexandra Stein, while ignoring over 75 positive client testimonies, years of research, and the lived reality of long‑standing Associates. Stolen confidential recordings were treated as an “absolute goldmine,” yet were grossly manipulated while the vast body of exculpatory evidence never reached the public. This is described as deception by omission and institutional violence, not journalism.
The article sets Lighthouse’s experience alongside the BBC’s later manipulation of President Trump’s January 6th speech. The methods are the same: selective editing, omission of exculpatory evidence, ideologically committed “experts,” and narrow, evasive defences when exposed. The difference is scale, not substance. Lighthouse, with almost no platform and limited resources, became a testing ground for tactics now visible on the global stage.
This installment is crucial to our series because it shows that the BBC is not behaving as a neutral public broadcaster, but as an instrument of narrative control. Those who encourage independent thought, moral responsibility and spiritual grounding in Christ become targets. Lighthouse Global’s stand is a precedent and a warning: if this can be done to a small Christian‑rooted research organisation and its families, it can be done to any citizen who refuses to bow to Establishment narratives.

3. Today’s Daily “Citizen/Christian and the Establishment Problem” Example
Warning: How the Establishment Controls Economics — and How the BBC Help Enforce This Line
Economic and Banking Professor Richard Werner is a name you probably haven’t heard of in the mainstream media. This is for good reason. In today’s video he exposes how the Establishment have bought the economics profession and therefore how economic “expertise” in the UK is not independent. Instead it is managed, rewarded, and broadcast in service of elite continuity.
From the very beginning, money has been a tool of power. Mr Werner explains how early money recording systems such as tally sticks emerged alongside the rise of the state and hierarchy. Money was never just a neutral medium of exchange; it was a mechanism of obligation, debt, and control. That function has not disappeared; it has simply been professionalised and hidden behind credentials.
The modern system depends on one thing above all else: preventing the public from asking first-order questions about money itself. That is why economics is framed as a technical discipline, not a political one.
Mr Werner explains how Central banks and treasury-linked institutions have spent decades shaping academic economics by controlling, what research is funded, what appears in “top” journals, what is taught in universities and what questions can be asked by economic professors during their research.
A 2009 article, How the Fed (The central bank of the United States) Bought the Economics Profession, documents how this capture occurred in the US. The UK follows the same pattern. The Bank of England, the Treasury, elite universities, and establishment think tanks act as gatekeepers, ensuring that challenges to the monetary system never reach legitimacy.
This is where the BBC becomes essential. The BBC does not simply report on economics, it filters it. Key roles such as its economics editors, business editor, economic correspondents [we will soon bring you a video where Mr Werner explains how close the BBC is to the “City” in the UK] are overwhelmingly drawn from the same closed ecosystem: central banking, Treasury advisory roles, elite academia, and City-linked institutions.
They are presented as neutral experts. They are not. These figures are even encouraged to debate interest rates, inflation targets, fiscal “discipline”, and spending priorities. But they never challenge the fundamentals:
- who creates money
- how debt enters the system
- why central banks are unelected
- or who structurally benefits
This is not an oversight. It is a deliberate boundary. Dr Werner even provides an anecdote where he states how famed economist Paul Krugman advised a fellow economist not to upset the Establishment as he wouldn’t be invited to the “important dinners”.
This is how the Establishment maintains their power. Governments change. Prime Ministers rotate. Elections are held. But the monetary system and the elite network that designs, teaches, and explains it remains intact. This is not a critique of economics. It is a warning about how modern power operates quietly, politely, and through institutions people are told to trust. This is why it is essential and why the public must understand who the Establishment is.

The following is an excerpt from feedback that was shared with Paul by Lighthouse associates following a call with them over the last few days.
What’s becoming clearer is how closely love and suffering are tied. We don’t suffer for what we don’t love. We don’t endure for what we don’t believe in. And when we are willing to suffer for someone else, or for the truth, or for what God is calling us into, that suffering becomes meaningful to us and starts becoming an expression of love. In that light, Christ’s suffering is not just something we’re grateful for, but something we’re meant to participate in, in our own small, daily, costly acts of faithfulness.
This is reaching into our families, our friendships, our work, our parenting, and our sense of calling. We’re seeing how much damage comes not only from big betrayals, but from small, avoided responsibilities, unspoken truths, and discomfort we are or have been unwilling to face. We want to be people who don’t run when things get hard, who don’t outsource responsibility to systems, excuses, or other people, and who don’t negotiate our way out of what we know we ought to do.
This isn’t a spiritual idea floating above real life. It gives us a way to assess where we are, where we’re wasting effort, and where we need to lean in more. It turns growth from something vague and emotional into something we can take responsibility for, with God, day by day.

Wow. The BBC really are at the core and hub of the establishment’s work to indoctrinate and deceive the public. I can imagine that only 0.0000% of their true negative impact, nefarious activities and corruption behind the scenes has been uncovered. May God help them to repent and come clean. Powerful insights – I would never have tied the BBC to how the economy is “run” and presented to us. Sterling work to all at Lighthouse Global, thank you.
This was no ordinary hit piece on Lighthouse by the BBC either. This was an all-out assault, coordinated, structured, manufactured to obliterate Lighthouse. Like dropping a nuclear bomb on a single building to take it out. I’ve lived through this experience and this article helped me appreciate the extent of the attack and also the underlying reasons for it, in terms of how Lighthouse’s work exposes the indoctrination and propaganda fed by the Establishment. Fascinating how Dr Werner discusses the closed system of economic knowledge. Can’t wait to see the clip where he specifically discloses how the BBC omitted his research from an economics documentary they produced. They clearly have a track record. If they can do it to President Trump they can do it to many others..

Horrible BBC. The reality of who they are just keeps getting worse and worse. Disgusting behaviour, but it is for us to start questioning what we see. When we do, we will see their nonsense for what it really is.
With the money thing, my lord, that which is so key to our lives, we know very little about it. Go figure!! It is time we get educated!!!

I still remember the first time I learned what money actually is — and what it’s not — and how much that blew my mind. We put money up on such a pedestal, as if it defines success and worth, while the Establishment seems to laugh all the way to the bank — and not just in a figurative sense. Control of the media has always been linked to controlling the public. Orson Well’s 1984 as an extreme example of how comprehensive control over what people hear and see is used to ultimately control a whole population. The BBC are acting as a real life version of this control, by choosing facts to fit their own narratives.
So much about how the world and works and how the monetary system especially is designed is not known, and yet it has a radical impact on every one of our lives. Thank you Dr Werner.
Thank you for sharing the discussion with Mr Werner, what a fascinating insight and revealer as to how much we, the public take at face value and for granted that the institutions and people involved in economics are acting in our best interests. What I find so damning from this in regards to the establishment is how much the most important questions, such as what is money, become the most difficult and avoided for those who are supposed to be “experts” in the subject. How much they obfuscate, obscure and try to hide the truth from public view as much as possible, while KNOWING that they are doing so and all in order to preserve their own careers and prospects. If that’s not corruption and massive level machiavellian deceit and manipulation of the public, I don’t know what is. It shocked me when I first realised how little I understood our finance systems and what our economies are actually based on, e.g. the FIAT system and how much every day people are effectively being swindled by those manipulating the system for profit against general ignorance. Thank you to Mr Werner for speaking out on this and calling out the establishment for it. This is truly crucial work and we, the public, need to educate ourselves through people such as him because the establishment certainly isn’t going to do it.

It’s revealing how little we’re taught about money and finances. Having been personally involved with delivering financial literacy programmes across primary, secondary and tertiary education sectors for over 5 years, I can see how children are being taught just enough to be able to use and spend money, but not to really understand what it is and how it works.

The BBC’s reporting on Lighthouse Global and what Dr Werner has exposed about the economy may appear unrelated at first, but in truth they reveal the same underlying pattern: an establishment that seeks to control outcomes for its own benefit. As Dr Werner explains, the economic system effectively offers a stark choice, either play a rigged game that enriches a small few, or be excluded altogether.
The work of Lighthouse stands in direct opposition to this mindset. It is about empowering people, helping them reconnect with their God-given potential, something the establishment resists because it threatens often generations-old structures designed to benefit only a handful of families.
It is therefore no surprise that the attacks intensified once we began speaking openly about Christ. This is a spiritual battle as much as a social one. We must come together as the Body of Christ to make a real difference, because under these systems, too many innocent people continue to suffer.
