3. Today’s Daily “Citizen and the Establishment Problem” Example
Lee Anderson MP Warning On Abuse Of Digital ID By Keir Starmer
In a recent parliamentary debate on 5th January 2026, Reform MP Lee Anderson openly challenged the government, warning that digital ID is not an ordinary administrative step, but rather, part of a broader shift toward a “Big Brother Britain.”
Mr Anderson said the government’s justification and that of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is that it will help stop illegal immigrants working in the UK illegally. Yet Mr Anderson demonstrated this is a weak pretext and that, in reality, it could expand state control far beyond its stated aim. He stated how easily it is to stop illegal immigrants from working under existing measures such as National Insurance numbers.
What Mr Anderson is quite rightly stating is that what is being touted as “modernisation” could quickly become permission to participate in daily life: work, travel, healthcare, banking, and more. Once identity is centralised and digital, every interaction could be conditional — tied to a system that the Establishment controls and which they can change on a whim. A single digital ID can quietly become a tool for tracking movements, behaviour, and access to services. There is clear precedent for this in China and other countries, most recently Albania.
Government narratives consistently understate these risks while overstating the need. This is how the establishment works; it’s what the government does not tell you. It’s what the BBC does not show you. It’s what your local MP does not inform you of. It’s what is hidden from you so you never find out their true motives to control you.
This is why we are developing The Lighthouse Magazine. Citizens everywhere need ways to stay informed and more importantly, act on that information. This is not just another newspaper to fill your mind or a podcast to fill your commute, this is urgent, dare we say critical, that we are all involved in keeping each other wisely informed and resourced. Please understand what digital ID really means in the context of your rights and how the Establishment can curtail them.
Freedom is not taken all at once. It is managed away, incrementally, bit by bit, over time.
4. Lighthouse Associates Consensus Feedback
The following feedback was shared with Paul Waugh by our associates at Lighthouse in response to yesterday’s daily update.
We are coming to see that the distinction between being willing to suffer and actually wanting to suffer with Christ is not semantic or extreme—it is foundational. Willingness is the minimum price of entry. Wanting is the proof of love, allegiance, and maturity. We are recognising, often painfully, how foreign this is to us after being formed by a culture that treats suffering as meaningless, unfair, or something to be escaped at all costs. Yet Scripture, experience, and the cross itself all testify to the same truth: meaningful suffering is not a contradiction of love; it is one of its deepest expressions.
Across our different lives, temperaments, and battles, we are seeing how much of our pain has not come from suffering too much, but from resisting the suffering that was necessary for growth. Whether it shows up as fear, avoidance, numbing, resentment, procrastination, spiritual passivity, or a quiet wish to disappear, the same pattern runs through us: we want Christ, but rarely His cross. We want heaven, but hardly the path that leads there. We want love without cost, maturity without refinement, and transformation without the fire.
What is shifting is our understanding of what suffering actually is. We are beginning to see it not as punishment or meaningless cruelty, but as refinement. Like metal in a furnace, or a body under training, or a heart learning to love, suffering reveals what is real, burns away what is false, and forms what is strong. When suffering has no meaning, it produces bitterness and despair. When it has meaning, it produces endurance, character, hope, and a deeper likeness to Christ.
Some of us are encountering this through external battles, opposition, or long-running conflicts. Some of us are discovering it in the quiet, daily hits: getting out of bed to pray, telling the truth when it’s uncomfortable, doing the work we don’t feel like doing, staying present instead of escaping, choosing discipline over indulgence, planning instead of avoiding, or opening up instead of hiding. We are learning that the smaller, repeated sufferings are often more piercing than the dramatic ones, because they go straight for our selfishness, fear, and pride.
We are also seeing that love itself is inseparable from suffering. To love God, to love others, to be faithful in marriage, in friendship, in community, in calling, all of it requires bearing cost, discomfort, loss, and vulnerability. Christ did not suffer because He had to; He suffered because He loved. And to follow Him means learning to love the same way, not just in words, but in willingness and desire to stand with Him and with one another in what is hard.
For some of us, this has gone all the way down to the question of life itself. Choosing to stay. Choosing not to escape. Choosing not to keep a hidden exit door open. Choosing life, even when it hurts. We are beginning to understand that refusing to opt out is not cruelty, it is obedience, faith, and love. It is aligning ourselves with a God who calls us to live, to endure, and to be transformed rather than to disappear.
We are not pretending this is easy. Many of us feel how far away we still are from truly wanting the suffering that would make us whole. But something has changed: we now see that the desire itself is part of the work. Asking God to show us His suffering, to let us share in it, to let us grow through it, is already a movement away from spiritual childhood and toward maturity.
What Paulie is calling us into is not heroics or masochism, but a complete and fundamental shift of attitude, from avoiding pain to seeking truth, from preserving self to loving God, from childish entitlement to adult discipleship. We are realising that the path from selfishness to love runs straight through wanting to suffer with Christ.
And so, in different ways and at different depths, we are starting to recognise the same thing together: that we need to choose life, truth and growth. We see that we need to choose to stand with Christ, not only in comfort, but in the refining fire that makes us who we are meant to be. x x

Hi everyone,
We are collectively realising that what Paulie has been giving us is not simply teaching about suffering, but the long-missing grasp of love itself. What has struck us most is the truth that love and suffering are not opposites but inseparable: if we remove suffering, what remains is not love at all, but flattery, fear, self-protection, and manipulation dressed up as care.
All of us can now see that we were raised on counterfeit versions of love — based on feelings, approval, performance, or avoidance of discomfort — and that this left us emotionally, spiritually, and relationally underdeveloped. Some of us experienced neglect, others grooming, others over-indulgence, others pressure to please, but the common thread was the absence of people willing to suffer with us and for us in order to help us grow. That absence explains far more about our wounds, our addictions, our passivity, our narcissism, and our relational chaos than we had ever understood before.
The four stages of suffering have given us something we have never had: a map. Instead of a binary of “I either love or I don’t,” we now see a developmental process — from resistance, to reluctant willingness, to reluctant wanting, to freely chosen love through suffering. For some of us, this brought deep relief: it shows that being afraid or resistant does not mean we are disqualified, only that we are early in the journey. For others, it brought a piercing clarity about how little we have truly wanted to suffer for what is right, even while telling ourselves stories about being good, loving, or faithful.
We can now see how much of our lives have been driven by flattery — wanting to be liked, praised, safe and admired — rather than by love that is prepared to bear its cost. Likewise, how we have felt beholden to flatter others, especially parents and those in positions of authority. This explains why so much of what we called love was actually fear-driven pleasing, control, dependency, or ego-maintenance. Seeing this is painful, but it is also liberating, because once it is exposed, it can no longer masquerade as virtue.
Many of us are also feeling the emotional weight of how far behind we are — in empathy, initiative, discipline, honesty, courage, and capacity to love. Some of us feel aptly like children who were never taught how to be human, only how to survive. Yet paradoxically, this has also given us hope: we finally know what we were missing, and therefore what we must now learn.
What makes this breakthrough especially powerful is that this teaching is not abstract. It is rooted in Christ, in Scripture, and in lived experience. We are recognising that to follow Jesus is not to admire Him from a safe distance, but to share His sufferings — to become disciplined, obedient, and loving in the same way He is. We are being confronted with the truth that wanting to be in Christ means wanting to love as He loved, and that love always costs.
We also see how this applies to everything: relationships, parenting, leadership, work, community, faith, and mission. A world built on flattery collapses into addiction, resentment, and psychopathy. A world built on chosen suffering for the highest good becomes a place where truth, growth, trust, and genuine love can exist.
This is why the three groups and the four steps feel so decisive. They show us that most will not be willing to take this path, let alone want it — but those who do want to suffer will become the people through whom God builds value for His Kingdom in reality.
We do not yet want to suffer as we ought. Many of us can barely tolerate it. But we now see that wanting to love and wanting to are different sides of the same coin. We see that our reluctance is not the enemy if we keep moving in the right direction and on the right path. For the first time, we feel we have a bridge — from who we are, to who we are meant to become.
We are sobered, humbled, feeling our fragility, grateful, and strangely hopeful. This work is demanding, but it is truth. And truth, even when it hurts, is coming home. Thanks to our Lord and Saviour. x x x x
Thank you Lee Anderson for calling out the false rationale of Mr Starmer in relation to the introduction of Digital ID’s which the majority of this country do not want! The two-tier justice system is already full of, by definition, injustice to the everyman, by the Establishment. The Digital ID will give this government scope to reduce the privacy of the citizen they claim to serve.
The Digital ID agenda is so overt, so in your face. It seems to me a test by the establishment, not to get it passed, but to see the public’s reactions and response levels to it. They know they are going to bring it in at some point – God told us that thousands of years ago this would happen – it’s a case of when and how. As citizens, as Christians, this reality is coming fast and we must legally and peacefully ensure we can protect ourselves not to be anti-establishment, but to make sure we stay committed to the truth, in Jesus Christ.

The way that Digital ID was suddenly presented and the way that it’s being pursued is testimony of how orchestrated this chaos is. It’s presented as a solution to illegal immigration and as a convenient way to complete fairly simple administrative tasks. I don’t see how it’s going to solve any problems, but I do see the problems it will create.
When the news broke, a Christian friend of mine over in the States who I hadn’t spoken to for months said straight away, “I see you guys are introducing the mark of the beast in the UK!” See the Book of Revelation for more (introduced Revelation 13:11-18)
My Grandfather wrote about the End Times in a small booklet and I mocked it when reading it not too long ago. Yet I see how the trajectory of developments in the world points to what’s presented in scripture.
The need for the Body of Christ to unite and come together therefore grows by the day because of what’s expected to come…
Thank you for this update, and for Lee Anderson standing up—a quiet voice among many that is growing louder by the day, as people become increasingly fed up with how the government and media agencies are trying to pull a fast one on the public. We already have enough systems to ensure people work legally and access government services.
So a national ID system is simply not needed – unless the government wants total control of our lives, like a farmer would his cattle.
Thank goodness for MP’s like Lee Anderson calling out this satanic agenda publicly, it’s two tier system and its demented and ravenous appetite to control the people! After the national lockdown, the establishment are now looking at further ways to control us and to see who will comply….
The thing is citizens are wising up to this agenda wrapped up in something that will be beneficial for us! The push back is already happening!
I am looking forward to the education from The Lighthouse Magazine. Topics like digital IDs are critical. We need to understand what is really happening, beyond the surface message we are given, and see what the truth actually is. Even before the need to ensure legal processes do not take the wrong path, the border crossings should have been stopped in the first place. When we look deeper, we can see the strategic moves that are being played. This is very, very needed.
Thank God for people like Mr Anderson who is speaking up in parliament for common sense and to protect the citizens of this country! We have been like frogs sitting in the water that has been gradually heated to near boiling point. If we as a people don’t jump out of that water soon, we will all be fried through encroaching bureaucratic controls. What astounds me is how easily and simply the government’s, under Keir Starmer, arguments for bringing in digital ID’s is debunked with simple points and questions. The public are literally being taken for fools, let’s not prove Starmer and Co right. Our own ignorance and/or apathy are our greatest enemies. Crying about this later won’t do anyone any good, once controls are brought in, the establishment won’t ever let them go.
The example Lee Anderson gives about the true motives behind digital ID, and how we are moving towards a Big Brother Britain, underlines the importance of questioning government proposals and decisions rather than accepting them at face value. From our own experience, we know how often the BBC acts as a mouthpiece for the government and the wider establishment.
There is a real need to stay independently informed, grounded in truth, and to come together as good-hearted people to ensure that freedom is expanded rather than quietly taken away. I am very much looking forward to The Lighthouse Magazine as a way to inform citizens while also creating opportunities to act and make a positive difference.

Just another way for the establishment to control and watch over our every move. What is to stop them from shutting down/turning off our IDs whenever they want, restricting us from our daily activities? It all comes back to control, and they want it.

God bless Mr Anderson. It’s wild how suddenly digital ID has become “optional” after all the backlash — but honestly, I don’t trust that this U-turn will actually stick. It feels less like a real change and more like they’re softening the language: “we won’t force a card, but we still want a system everyone ends up using.”
We’ve heard politicians talk about privacy and free speech, but when it comes to digital ID, that all feels totally vapid. I’m glad they’ve backed off for now, but I’m keeping a close eye — I don’t think this is the last we’ll see of it.
